Handy kitchen appliance

I have been through a lot of choppers because they just don't last, they burn out, or they end up cracking or busting on the plastic. I use them a ton for making ham salads, tuna salads, and chopping onions, or veggies. I hate to cry chopping up onions which I use frequently and it's worth it to buy for just that. It quickly chops up my foods to a nice consistency and blasts thru nuts for my recipes. It is great for making baby foods as well. It doesn't hold a large amount but it's good for small batches of things. It is nice just to have because it can chop things up much quicker than if done by hand. Power It's got pretty good power, and doesn't take much time at all to whip through the foods. It's powerful for its size. Ease of Cleaning It's easy to clean I just wash the cup in the sink, and wipe the rest with a damp rag. Durability It's very durable and will stand up to heavy usage with no problem. I have used mine a lot and it's still working the same way it did on the first use. It's worth going with this one because it's hard to find one that will last.

Very handy food processor!

This Black & Decker Ergo 3-Cup Chopper is a little more than decent, but it is not a small appliance that I would recommend to anyone. The food at the bottom of the chopper gets chopped much more finely than the food at the top, and it is hard to get all of it chopped into consistent shapes and sizes. However, it is fairly inexpensive, and it does the job, so overall, it's an okay appliance to keep around. Power This small chopper has a lot of power, and it has no problem chopping anything from hard vegetables to meats like chicken or steak. Safety The blades are very sharp, so you need to use caution and common sense when using this chopper. Ease of Assembly Something I love most about this chopper is how there is really no assembly required. You just take the lid off, put the food in, put the lid back on, and chop. Ease of Cleaning Very easy to clean! I just hand-wash it with a wet rag. Durability I have owned this for a while now, and I have not had any problems with it.

Good for small jobs.

This mini chopper is nice to have in addition to, not as a replacement for, a larger food processor. We use it for small tasks like chopping carrots, celery, onions, etc- things that would take a while with a knife, but aren't worth dragging out the big food processor for. I'd say we probably use this chopper about twice a week. Unfortunately ours has broken and only one speed works now. Power This mini chopper won't replace a food processor, but it is good for jobs that would take a while with a knife but aren't worth pulling a big machine out. I typically use it for mincing garlic, carrots, or onions. Safety The blade won't operate without the top on, so I don't see how you could possibly hurt yourself. The blade itself isn't that sharp either so I think a cut during cleanup would be unlikely. Ease of Assembly Assembly is super easy, you just drop in the blade, and pop on the top. Ease of Cleaning The bowl and blade are very easy to clean, and are both dishwasher safe. Unfortunately, the underside of the top part of the unit also gets food on it and is less convenient to clean because it cannot be submerged in water. Wiping it off isn't too difficult, just a bit of an annoyance. Durability Unfortunately I don't think this mini chopper is that well built. The bowl and blade are made of someone cheap plastic, and the top part of the unit is broken on ours. One of the two buttons has stopped functioning. Fortunately the other button still works but we can only use it at one speed now.

Very handy to have in the kitchen.

I bought this chopper when I realized how much of a hassle it was to take out and use my bigger chopper when I only needed to chop a small amount of whatever it is I was chopping. I did not regret purchasing it because it was so fast and simple to use. I love chopping vegetable and throwing them in to whatever I am cooking. I chop them small and sneak them in the food so the kids will not know they are eating vegetables and this chopper is perfection. I use it on a daily basis and I have had it for about five months now and the blades are just as sharp as they were when I first purchased it. I also love that it does not take up much counter space like a bigger chopper. The only thing about this chopper that I dislike is the plastic bowl, it seems like it is starting to wear off and the middle part of the blade is not holding onto the bowl like it used to. Other then that I am very happy with this chopper it always does the job for my meals for my small family.

Comes in handy

This chopper comes in hand when you don't want to pull out the huge food processor. It quickly chops food. My one complaint is that it is hard to get the food chopped to consistent sizes. The food at the bottom of the container gets chopped a lot more finely than the food at the top. It is easy to clean, most pieces can go in the dishwasher. I use this to make baby food instead of a baby bullet. The food comes out in the same consistency and its one less appliance I need to keep around. Power This little chopper has a lot of power for its size and has no problems chopping food from hard vegetables to chicken. Safety The blades scare me sometimes they are so sharp. Ease of Assembly There is very little assembly required with this chopper. Its put the blades in, put the food in, and then put the lid on and chop. Ease of Cleaning The pieces come apart nicely so that there aren't any tricky parts to try to clean. Durability I haven't owned the chopper for very long yet but so far is has held up great.

Great food processor.

I use my food processor once a week or every other week but this one is great. With past food processors I've used, the plastic ends up breaking, or it starts smelling like the motor is burning (I don't run it longer than 60 seconds). This one has been very durable. It has 2 settings. The one on the left is better for really finely chopping food (like celery), and the one on the right is better for larger pieces (like onion, red pepper, etc.). It's easy to use and clean, too, because the blade comes out and it's an empty container. It comes with a lid if you want to store your chopped food too.

A great way to chop vegetables that is easy on your hands.

I bought this chopper especially for chopping onions because I have arthritis. It is really a hand saver, and does a great job chopping not only onions, but carrots, celery, and peppers. I even used it to make pesto. The top is a little tricky to clean, as you cannot immerse it, but overall I find this an indispensable tool.

Great for what you need it for.

Easy to clean, nice size...Not the best I have ever seen but works good. I wish it had an attachment on the top to put carrots right into it or celery that type of thing. However for what you need it for it works good enough. You can make stuff for recipes or smoothies. You can even make baby food pretty easily with this item. I think the baby food option is something more people are looking into. I hope everyone enjoys it. Power Doesn't seem to loose power. It is powerful to chop and puree up what I have put into it. Safety You always need to be careful but with the lid this avoids some mistakes. Ease of Cleaning Cleans good by hand. I have not put it into the dishwasher but I would image you could do that also.

I have an eight month old baby and knew as soon as it came time for her to be introduced to solids, I wanted to make her baby food. I have a larger Kitchen Aide Food Processor, but I quickly realized that it was too big to prepare small meals for her and I was wasting more food. I searched for smaller food processors and came across the Black and Decker Ergo 3 - Cup Chopper. For the cost, it has well paid for iteself and then some. It is so strong, I sometimes use it over the larger Kitchen Aide. It is extremely easy to clean and storage is a breeze. You can either use the container or transfer it directly to a small tupperware. The only negative is the size, the 3 cup capacity can limit you if you are preparing large dishes.

Great value chopper

This is an excellent chopper for fruit (apples, etc) and vegetables (potatoes, onions). The machine has two settings: one slower for bigger pieces and one faster for smaller choppings. While the motor does not overheat trying to cut frozen vegetables and fruit, it is not easy to chop them without adding liquid. If you cook for more than one person, the quantity the chopper can handle at once can get small. However, the small size was a big positive in my view as it is small enough to store it in a small NYC kitchen. Cleaning the machine is also super easy. The chopper consists only of three pieces so taking it apart and putting it together after usage is no problem at all. Overall, I can highly recommend this machine!
