I have had this model for more then five months. The coffee is produced promptly; other brand names have already begun to slow with age. The brewed coffee remains hot; the heating element is not showing any age. This coffee pot allows the water to be poured into the reserve without spilling everywhere. I have no problems from this machine. I wish it had a timer to allow the coffee to be waiting for me first thing in the morning. Brew Performance Brew performance is consistent. I also use my pot to produce my brewed tea for iced tea. It brews it hot and strong; I let it steep then add my sugar. I love its consistency of the heat to keep my coffee hot and brew my iced tea strong and delicious. Ease of Cleaning I have not had any issues with cleaning at all. I don't use soap just a tad of vinegar run through the just plain water. the pot I use salt and ice cubes in a swirling motion he up around the lid use a sponge and the salt as an abrasive. Ease of Use I would love the timer on this model. It seems to much like a chore. Adding that timer would see a rise in sales. Design Simple Durability It is handling the daily chore and there has been no change since it came out of the box.

If you are moving into your first home or apartment, going away to college, or something like that then this is a good machine for you. It is a low price simple machine that likely is not going to last too very long with a ton of usage but will get you from point A to point B. With good maintenance it will last you a couple years maybe. Brew Performance This is a standard 12 cup drip coffee machine. You need paper filters with these which is a cheap but extra added cost to these cheaper machines. And the paper filters do have a tendency to fold down and get coffee grounds into your coffee, which unless you like German coffee is kind of gross. Ease of Cleaning This machine is very easy to clean. You can hand wash the carafe and filter holder or put them in the dishwasher. The machine itself can me rinsed with vinegar water to flush out impurities once a month. In case you get anything nasty in your machine the back is open and you can wash it by hand to a point, so that is another bit of a perk. Ease of Use This machine is very easy to use. There is no clock or presetting to it. You just add your filter, coffee, and water and flip the switch. So easy, but it does not always fit every ones needs. Design This design is simple and easy. For someone who does not need all the bells and whistles but a low cost machine just to make coffee this is perfect. I personally like my coffee maker to make my coffee for me when I get up. You can set this one up the night before and turn it on before your shower and have coffee when you get out. This is just a much simpler design. I did like the fill line on the side. It was very easy to read. Durability This machine is not very durable. The carafe we had was replaced because the glass was thinner than most machines. The plastic seems to be thinner. This machine lasted us just over a year before it gave out and we had to replace it.

My family and I have never had any complaints about it's noise level or speed. The coffee goes directly into the carafe, so no messes. Ease of Cleaning The carafe is easily removed and washed out. The inside of the machine cleans easily by wiping the underside of the top and then running several cycles of coffee maker cleaner or vinegar and water through it. Ease of Use The Black & Decker 12-Cup Drip Coffeemaker is extremely easy to use. Just pour in the water, insert a filter, add coffee, and press a button and before you know it, you'll have a hot cup of joe. Design The design is clean and contemporary. It will fit in well with any décor. It is also relatively compact, so fits well into small spaces if needed. Durability We have had this coffee maker for years and it has worked perfectly every time. It shows no signs of wearing out. We expect to have it and use it for many more years.
