Black and Decker beats out the pricey brand!
I was one of those kitchen snobs, I admit it. I had a Very Expensive Brand food processor for years, and when it finally gave out, I was looking at other Very Expensive Brand replacements. Then I realized that I didn't exactly have enough money for a new Very Expensive Brand, so I decided to try a Black & Decker 10 cup, "just to tide me over". I was shocked to find that I liked it just as well as my VEB, maybe even better. It is loud, that I have to admit. But it works like a champ, and has conveniences that my VEB did not, such as a way to wrap the cord around the base to store, and suction cups to keep it from running all over the kitchen counter. All in all, I think this is a great option for those who are looking for a good food processor at a decent price. Or for those whose VEB has broken and doesn't want to take out a home improvement loan just to replace it. Power This slices, shreds and chops all kinds of hard vegetables without problems. Safety It will not work unless the bowl, blade and lid are set on properly. My kids (ages 6 and 9) use this with supervision. Ease of Assembly Easier to put together than the VEB! Ease of Cleaning Easier to take apart and clean than the VEB! Durability So far, so good. I've owned mine about a year.
