The more I have used the Bissell Spot lifter, the less I have liked it. It doesn't always get the job done. Maneuverability I have used this a lot as I have three little dogs and one of them isn't 100 % trained. I have a bissell carpet cleaner, but it is big and bulky to drag around just for one small spot. And you really need to clean dog messes with an exraction method, paper towels and rags just don't do it Ease of Maintenance It is pretty easy to wash out the resevoir, but it sure is a messy job. Suction Performance I need to say that you can't expect to clean a huge mess or large area.The suction is no where near as good as on the big machine and it leaves the rug a bit damp. The brush on the bottom does not rotate! If I had to do it over again, i would look for a model that had a rotating brush and that could be plugged in Versatility It really only does one thing, suck up wet mess. Design This Bissell is small and lightweight. It is battery powered, so there is no cord. This has the advantage of going anywhere you need it, i like that. But it also runs out of juice within a half hour or less and the directions say to wait until the battery fully wears down before recharging. Not liking that so much when i am in the middle of sucking up dog pee and the thing stops! Durability Not sure if I know how well this will continue to work as I don't like using it!

We have pets, as in more than one and, well, needless to say, in order to keep the house clean and tidy, the bissell 1719 was an absolute must. Does it work as well as in the commercials or ads? In a word: no. It still works well, but for the deep cleaning action, you really have to scrub hard. Maybe it's just because our carpets are a little thicker? Not sure, but either way, I would recommend this product to anyone and everyone that has a pet. Especially a puppy. It also works well to clean up after soda pop spills or, if you are quick enough, red wine. We have had this little vacuum for a few years now and the only thing that is starting to show it's age is the red brussle scrubbers. Not too shabby.
