Still Going Strong

4

I purchased this vacuum a few years ago and it is still going strong. I have had to replace the belts twice and it is soon ready for number 3. I have had it about 3 years and use it in the whole house at least 2 x a week. It has a wonderful pet hair attachment that works better than most. The suction strength is outstanding. It is adjustable for bare floors all the way to long shag. The cup that holds the dirt is very easy to clean and doesn't leave a mess. There is also a couple of other filters and one is a Hepa filter. I like the green/red warning when the filter needs cleaning. I use the narrow hand-held hose for cleaning drapes, corners, floor edges, and lamp shades. It has super suction. There is an area on the wide upper part for lifting if needed. It is rather lightweight for a hard worker! The cord is extra long and I love that I could plug it in one outlet and reach large areas. My only complaint is that the hose attachment tube comes loose from the unit and sometimes I forget to check so the vacuum is not strong unless I re-hook it. No big deal.

Pretty Decent

This Bissell Momentum is not bad. It does the job and it does it fairly well, but I am a vacuum skeptic and have to, it seems, buy a new vacuum every 2 years or so. I've had this one for almost 2 year and so far there have been no issues and the suction is still strong. We have kids and no pets, but my long hair does seem to clog up the wheels occasionally. Our house is mostly carpeted and we have a lot of stairs. Good news is that this handles stairs better than some machines because it is fairly light weight. The machine does a pretty good job at moving with little force from the person vacuuming. I think the momentum part is accurate since I would have to say it is very easy to move this machine. It glides well and maneuvers around furniture. The bin is easy to unload and that is handy since it means that you will actually empty it more often. I also like that you can see the contents clearly, so there is no real denying when it is time to empty the canister. This Bissell comes with the standard attachments which we use pretty regularly. Be careful because when placing the hose back into the main feed it can unknowingly stay loose. That is especially problematic when you think you are vacuuming but are really just moving the vacuum with no suction.

It's Okay

I tend to accumulate vacuums the way some people accumulate shoes so when I told my husband I wanted a vacuum to keep on the third floor of our house because I was sick of lugging our other one upstairs he wasn't too surprised. He just asked that I not break the bank since it wasn't going to need to be a heavy duty cleaner. I settled on the Momentum after reading some good reviews and because it was inexpensive. Our third floor consists of our teenager's room and her rec room. It is completely carpeted and although I have a no food upstairs rule *somehow* all sorts of things manage to get ground into the carpet, especially when she has friends over for slumber parties. At first I was REALLY impressed with what a good job the Momentum did on our carpets. Lately though I feel like it misses things that it should be getting up, or I have to make multiple passes to really get all the little bits of notebook paper and whatever else to come up. Even after changing/cleaning the filters I feel like it isn't performing as well as it did when we first got it. It still does get the job done though so for a light duty vacuum I would say that it is probably a good choice, just be prepared to really stay on top of the filters.

Outstanding Power and Suction!

4

Compared to my old vacuum, it's a 10. But just rating this one by itself I guess I'm between a 8.5 and 9. If it were rated just on suction alone, it would be a 10 for sure. Never owned a vacuum that would pickup the way this one does! Maneuverability This vacuum is quite heavy and clutsy to move around when it's not running. It's top heavy and kinda wears you out using it, especially if you have a lot of carpet to clean. It does move around the floor rather nicely when you're vacuuming with it, but when you're just getting it out to get ready to vacuum, it's a chore! All the attachments are on the body of the vacuum making it very heavy to hold on to. Ease of Maintenance I've had to change belts in mine and it was really hard getting the 4 snaps to release. Once you're able to finally get to the inside where the belt goes, the belt itself goes on quite easily except for having to stretch it from the gear up to the roller guards. You really need 3 hands to accomplish this. After I changed my belt, and turned the vacuum back on, within about 2 minutes, it was making a really loud noise from the roller. When I took it apart again, I couldn't see anything causing the noise. Put it back together again and this time it was a little quieter. Maybe my roller is going bad and I'll need to replace it next. Too bad none of these parts are available locally. I have to order everything for every Bissell product I have online. I guess I can comment on the bagless feature under this classification. I absolutely love this extra large canister that this Momentum comes with. It's twice the size of my old canister vacuum so that means less dumping and more vacuuming. It slides out with a flip of the lever and goes back in with ease. Filters are also very easy to get to and to clean. I just put them under running water, gently squeezing them until the water runs clean, let them dry completely and slip back into place. Only 2 filters, no muss no fuss! Suction Performance I rescue cats and have lots of kitty hair and believe me, this vacuum is the first and only vacuum I've ever owned that did not clog up in the hose with cat hair. With my old vacuum, I was constantly tearing it apart to shove something down the hose to break the cat hair that was jammed in it loose. The suction on this vacuum is so strong, when I first got it, I vacuumed with my old vacuum and had a canister full of dirt, dust and cat hair and then I vacuumed again with my new Momentum and what a shock! The canister was full again. I can't believe how much more dirt, dust and cat hair this vacuum picks up. And the power is so strong the hair never clogs up in the hose. I really like the upholstery attachment (the Turbo Brush). It cleans the sofa and chairs up like magic. Only problem I have with it, is getting it off the body of the vacuum to use it. There are no little directional arrows to show you how to pull it off to use it. You just have to tug at it and hope you're pulling it in the right direction so you don't break the clips off. And, it's on there tight! Versatility Versatility is right up there with all the attachments that come with it. With cats, comes cat litter and the crevice tool is a work saver when I have to clean up spilled and tracked kitty litter. It fits right into the corners and baseboards very nicely. This vacuum also has the edge cleaners built into the base so you can run it close to the walls and pickup almost every inch of dirt. I also like the extra long cord that it comes with so I don't have to keep changing outlets to get the floor swept. Can't forget the uphostery tool so all in all this vacuum does everything but shampoo! Design What to say about design! It's obviously designed to do a powerful job and it does. So, it gets a 10 for that, but all the attachments make it very heavy to use so that's a 9. I'd also like to have the on/off button up on the handle instead of down on the body of the vacuum, another 9. But, the extra large canister and ease of removing it gives it another 10. Extra long cord and the flip lever to hold the cord is also a big plus. Durability I seem to have to replace belts quite often and I've acquired a noise in the roller since my last belt change so I'm not sure how long this will last. But, it does work hard while it's going!

This Vaccum Is an All around Keeper! Love It!

From the first day I got my Bissell I won't go back to anyone else. This machine does all that I ask and more! Now that says alot as I have numerous pets inthe house! Suction, manuverability ease of use and not time consuming. Maneuverability Great for stairs and all sorts of surfaces and around corners and furniture just perfect. Being able to use the hose attachment for crevice work on furniture is a big plus. Ease of Maintenance Easy to maintain even when the dirt being picked up is quite dusty. Can be a pain because you will need to clean inside and out frequently especially if you use it daily as I do. All filters are easy to find and clean and compared to the old machines this is a dfinite bonus. Suction Performance From carpeting to a flat surface the suction just keeps going, no slackness from one to the other. And whether using as an upright or a shop vac it has great lasting suction. Versatility Not as versitile as a vac could be but for my needs it does just fine. When the machine becomes more than what it was mant to be you run into more things that can go wrong and usually they will. If I want a handheld vac I'll get one, if I want a canister vac I'll get one whereas with this unit I get to do all I can and then some! Design Can be big and bulky when you need to travel with it, and you need a sizable space to put it when not in use. But, as for the overall design I like how easily everything is placed and how I can see quickly how well the vac is working or not working. Durability Major durability with this as I use it indoors and out! I can vaccum my leaves outside in the fall and go inside to clean under the fridge to get the dustballs and hair from the compressor to keep that working correctly. With the complete ability to take this apart to clean properly and thoroughly this Bissell has done more for me than most people who offer to help.

Great for Spring Cleaning

5

I rarely vacuum my place, usually only for spring cleaning and when relatives or friends are coming and I just don't want them to know my house usually looks this bad. Whenever I do drag out the vacuum, it has quite a job to do. This vacuum has performed surprisingly well when up against the mammoth job of cleaning my carpet. Maneuverability Like with any full-size vacuum, this one has not always been the easiest to get around. However, it is light enough to not be a hassle. Luckily, I have no stairs or highly inaccessible places in my house, so I cannot comment on how it performs under that kind of pressure. Ease of Maintenance It's fairly easy to empty out, and I have never had to perform any other kind of maintenance on it. Suction Performance This vacuum has been able to handle any job I have thrown at it so far. I have on occasion had problems with spills, and when I first treat it a little with paper towels, it can usually handle the rest.

A little messy when emptying it

4

I think this Bissell vacuum cleaner does a pretty good job. Its cleaning power is pretty impressive and it is easy enough to maneuver that I don't have any real complaints about any of that. It seems to pick up a lot more dust and dirt than my previous vacuum cleaner, which is great, since I have some messy birds who coat my apartment in feathers if I don't constantly clean up after them! It seems to be of good quality and a solid build, so far, and I hope it will last me several years to come. It seems like it will. My only complaint as of now is that the bagless aspect of this vacuum does cause some mess when trying to empty the canister compartment. I liked the idea of not having to buy vacuum bags, but somehow it didn't occur to me that that would mean having to be exposed to all that loose dust and grime when I went to empty out the vacuum cleaner! My husband has allergies, so I'm not wild about having all that floating around the moment I open the compartment to throw it in the trash.

Upright vacuum with attachments

4

My vacuum broke down this summer and I needed to replace it immediately. I went to Wal-Mart and began to shop. I only had two features I was looking for: a light vacuum at a low price. This seemed to fit the bill on both features. Taking it home, I am impressed with how well this works for the price. It is easy to push around, its neither heavy nor bulky and with my small house its small enough to store just about anywhere. The suction is excellent and the attachments work well and are easy to attach and detach. My only minor complaint is the plastic on the vacuum. I hope it is durable and will not crack easily. Overall an excellent vacuum for the price point. Maneuverability Its lightness makes this vacuum easy to move between rooms. I have a small home and its nice to be able to move around without banging into things or having to move furniture. Ease of Maintenance I have rated this as good only because I have only owned the sweeper since the summer. As or right now it is easy to clean out the canister and we have had no issues with other pieces or attachments. Suction Performance Cleans our carpets well. It is also great for cleaning in between couch and chair cushions. Versatility Easy to use as an upright. The attachments make this great for cleaning furniture pieces as well as behind appliances. Design Sleeker design makes for easy storage and moving from room to room Durability As most of these pieces are plastic I am a bit skeptical of the durability of the hoses and accessories.

I love it!!

This is a dream vacuum! I never thought I would get so excited about vacuuming, but I love it due to this amazing machine. I have some carpet, but mostly hard wood, but the Bissell gets everything. The vacuum I had prior would kick everything up...but this one sucks it, like it should! I'm extremely pleased with my new Bissell!!

Bissell 3910 Momentum is GREAT that really does do the job!!

This vacuum was given to us from my in-laws.  I am not sure when exactly they purchased it. The reason they gave it to my husband and I is because the roller brush on the bottom is kind of messed up.  It does not spin very well so I have to lean it at an angle to get it to work.   Even though i have to do that, it STILL works so much better than the Dirt Devil I was using before it.  We also have a few pets and I noticed that it really does pick up the hair/fur. Especially if you use the hose and put the end of it down flush with the carpet, it has enough suction to pull up hair and dirt that have been down deep in your carpet that my other vacuum never even could begin to try to remove. This vacuum is so amazing that I wish it worked to its fullest potential but is still better than a none broken one I had before it.
