Every nursing mom needs a Hooter Hider

5

The Bebe Au Lait Hooter Hider is an absolute must have for nursing moms. I received mine as a present for my shower for my first child from a family member who had just finished nursing her son. Now, I make sure that I give one to all my friends who are having babies and plan on nursing. It is super convenient to keep this in your diaper bag at all times and be ready to feed your baby whenever you need to. I have nursed my three kids EVERYWHERE with this cover. You no longer have to hide in order to feed you baby. Mine is a little older and not the cutest of patterns, but it works fine so I haven't felt the need to replace it but I have been tempted several times by all of the super cute patterns that they have available. I love that this cover keeps you and the baby covered, but allows you to look down and see the baby to make adjustments if needed or to simply gaze if desired. When my babies got older they would try and push the cover away which can leave you exposed but I was able to find a way to tuck is securely around us until my baby was done with their meal.

Best nursing cover ever

5

If you're looking for a nursing cover, look no further.  This one is -- by far -- the best.  I don't have the white eyelet color, mine has swirls on it.  It comes in like 30 different colors/patterns.  So you can pick your favorite pattern for what will soon be your favorite nursing cover :). With my first I didn't bother with a nursing cover -- I just did a blanket and rarely had any problems.  When I had my second I quickly realized I was too busy chasing my first to mess with a blanket!  The Hooter Hider is an AWESOME solution.  It ties around the neck so i stay covered even when walking after my first born and nursing.  And it's wide enough I could tuck it under an arm or in my pants if it was a bit windy.  The tie around the neck is great, long enough, and easily adjustable one-handed (critical while nursing).  There's a built-in burp cloth on one corner if you forget a burp cloth.  It's big enough to cover everything and big enough to use as a diaper changing pad in a pinch.  Plus the whole thing is machine washable.  But my favorite part is the top -- it has a lightweight plastic band inside the top part so that it pops out ever so slightly from your chest allowing you to see your baby and make sure you're latching right, but not so big that others can peek in and see nursing baby.  it's fabulous.

Everyone should have one

My friend recently got this product as a baby shower gift for her first kid. I must say, I'm jealous I did not have one around when I was breast feeding my children. As pretty much anyone who has ever breast fed, or even thought about breast feeding knows, it can be a bit difficult to feed in public. You have some people who will give you death stares and just glare at you for trying to feed your child. It isn't always easy to go someplace private like a car or a changing room, and who wants to feed their child in a public bathroom? None of that is a problem with this product though. It keeps you covered and you'll never have to worry about anyone getting annoyed, or any slips, or any other problems that come with breast feeding your child. It even has an extra pocket in them so you can store nursing pads. It stays in place and covers you and your baby. I highly recommend for anyone who is thinking about breast feeding.

Hooter HIder is Essential!!!

'The Bebe Au Lait Hooter Hider' is a product with no cons. Everythig about this item is perfect. It is light weight (cotton) so in the summer, the baby will not become too hot if you need to nurse at a park or in a hot house. It is also great in the winter, as an added blanket for nursing elsewhere. There is an opening so that the baby and you can see other, a very important piece of bonding while nursing. the Hooter HIder hides everything so you do not have to worry about someone finding that one spot you missed. It stays on the body very well, unlike a blanket which can be easily moved and resulting in it falling down. Lastly, the price. It is a great price for a great product and can stand the test of time. There is no need to throw it out after one child is done using it. This is defintly a great product for giving baby and yourself the privacy you deserve when nature calls for a drink! People constantly ask wher eI got my Hooter Hider, and the name is great...it gets all the mommie's talking!

Kudos to whoever came up with nursing covers. What a great idea!

I received a nursing cover as a gift at a baby shower. I have been kind of hesitant to use it because I feel self-conscious about nursing in public--with or without a cover--but when I do use it, I am very happy with the result. Trying to cover up with just a blanket can be kind of tricky: the baby kicks it out of the way, it falls off, etc. The cover seems to stay in place a lot better, and I can actually see my baby as I'm nursing her. That's a huge advantage over just a blanket! It's nice to be able to make eye contact and make sure everything's okay. Really my only complaint is the price. Again, I received it as a gift so it didn't cost me anything. But when I've gone online to look into purchasing another one, I've been surprised to see how much they cost. If I were a better seamstress, I could just make one myself for a small fraction of the cost that online retailers charge. Still, I highly recommend these.

Can't leave home without it

I received my first Bebe Au Lait Hooter Hider when I was pregnant with my first child. I have used it with my second child and plan on using with my third child. I have also loved it so much that I have given it many times as gifts to family and friends. The hooter hider is something I think every nursing mother needs. I would never leave home without it. I have since bought two more. I have one to keep in my car, one at home, and one in my purse. It folds up nicely and is easy to store. I love the beautiful fabrics and colors to chose from. It easily covers the baby and helps you to feel modest and covered. It is a lightweight material so that you and your baby stay cool. I love the opening at the top because you are able to see the baby while nursing and also get some fresh air under the blanket. It is also nice to have it around your neck so as the baby gets bigger they are not able to pull it of.

The Hooter Hider is a definite must-have!

I just got my first official Hooter Hider in preparation for my 3rd child and now wish I had had this with my first 2! With my oldest, I don't think these existed yet, so I was stuck just using a regular blanket. With my middle child, I tried getting the cheaper nursing cover from Target. Since I lost that one, and found a good deal on a Hooter Hider online, I decided to get one when I found out I was pregnant with our 3rd. I have to say that in comparison with everything else - regular blanket & cheaper imitation Hooter Hider - the official Hooter Hider is far superior and definitely worth a few extra bucks, especially if you plan on nursing for a while. I nursed my 1st two for their full first year and plan on doing so with my 3rd, who is now 5 months old. Some of the features I love are the wire on top that allows you to see the baby while nursing them, the small swatch of washcloth sewn into the corner for wiping and the large size of the cover itself. I have forgotten mine at home on occassion and have had to use a regular blanket to nurse and it was so hard to go back! I don't know what i used to do!

Great product!

I bought a Bebe Au Lait Hooter Hider Nursing Cover before I even gave birth (actually, I bought two). I was hoping that breastfeeding would go well and that the nursing cover would be a worthwhile addition to the diaper bag. After reading some mixed reviews (people either seem to love it or hate it), I picked up two on a good sale and decided to try out one and either put the second into rotation at a later date or save it as a gift if it just did not work for our needs. The unfavorable reviews I read said that it draws even more attention to what is going on beneath a large piece of fabric, but now that I am months into exclusive breastfeeding, I couldn't imagine how people nurse in public without one. I don't own a wardrobe of nursing shirts, so a cover up of some sort is essential. This product is large enough to cover effectively, but folds up very small for minimum diaper bag real estate, and performs its job well. Would recommed to any breastfeeder!

Bebe Au Lait, I recommend to all breast feeding mothers

This is the best product for breast feeding, It was wonderful with my new born, when we were both new to breast feeding, I could see what we were both doing, and also able to bond with eye contact in public. Still using my original 10 months later, it has held up wonderfully through washing, I have bout one for everyone I know that plans to breast feed. This really made my breast feeding sucessful.

The best gift I got at my baby shower

5

"The best gift I got at my baby shower," said my good friend L. I had gotten her the Hooter Hider off of her registry list. I don't know anything about babies, least about nursing them. But my friend never struck me as the maternal type. She just had her first baby in her early 30s. I was at the shower where she received my Hooter Hider. She had dozens of gifts. I think she meant it when she proclaimed it her best gift, six months later, while she was nursing her son in front of me and roomful of friends. She was so relaxed and so comfortable, and clearly her baby was happy. I can't offer you specific details about the product, only that it inspired a genuinely enthusiastic reaction from a hard-to-impress mommy. I don't know if it's a fair price, but, if you're an expectant mom, I'd put it on your registry list. If you're buying a gift for an expectant mom, I'd get the Hooter Hider. Plus, it really does have an awesome name!
