I received this as a Christmas gift this past year. I love to read so I was super excited to get it. This is perfect for anyone who is looking for just reading and not a tablet. There are also Nook tablets for those who are looking for everything in one. But for just the basics this is perfect. Sometimes it takes a little bit to load the shop screen (but that might just be my WiFi connection) but everything else works great. All of my books downloaded fast and are easily accessible. This Nook is perfect in size and is very light and comfortable to hold. The battery life is incredible! This is the tradeoff for not having all the features of a tablet. I'm not sure what the official battery life is, but it's very long. Perfect and easy to use! Battery Life Perfect! The battery on this lasts forever! Doesn't take long to charge either. Book Choices/Variety There are a ton of books to choose from online. They also have a lot of free books too.

This is my second nook, I received the original nook several years ago for Christmas and loved it. When they came out with this one I had to have it so I gave my old nook to a friend of mine and purchased this one. By far one of my best purchases. I am a avid reader and love the way I can take this with me anywhere. Most books I read are usually in hardcover and that takes up a lot of room in my purse. This also allows you the ability to rent books from the library something I didn't use to do. I hate not knowing where the book has been, plus the library is 30 minutes from my house. The best part of the glow light option is it doesn't keep other people up. I can read in bed while my husband is sleeping or read a book while rocking my son to sleep. Overall this is a great invention. I know a lot of people would probably rather have a tablet but if you are a avid reader like myself this is way better. I hate reading off my iPad, my eyes start to hurt and I can only read a little at a time.

I am an avid reader and I do most of my reading in bed at night. I have arthritis in my hands and wrists so heavy books can be difficult to manage. The Nook is so light that I have a little stuffed animal I got specifically to support it while I read. Since there are no pages to hold, it easily keeps my place without me having to hold it up or open! My only issue is I wish I could access the internet, more like a tablet. Hopefully I can upgrade to the next level of Nook one day!

I bought this so I could read at night without bothering anyone or keeping myself awake. It works wonderfully, and the battery life is quite good, but the screen tore a few days after my warranty was up. This is apparently a common problem. It doesn't stop me from using it, but it's enough that I don't know if I'll buy another nook in the future. Book Choices/Variety Not as many titles available as there are for kindle, but plenty of file conversion programs are available to help with that.

I have been using the nook simple touch with glow light for a few months now. I have always been an avid reader and got tired of spending a fortune on books and carrying them around. With nook, books, magazines and comics are cheaper and you can carry all of them at once. The reading experience on this nook is the best I have had compared to other electronic devices. My phone tended to hurt my eyes after continued use and was a little too small. My tablet was too bulky and a pain to hold up for hours. The nook simple touch fits nicely in my pocket and is easy on my eyes and arms for reading for hours at a time. The glow light feature is ideal for reading at night or in dark places or in the car at night. The screen is easy to see in daylight outside as well. The book selection is plentiful and adds to my pleasant experience with the nook. I highly recommend this too any reader regardless of how much time you spend with a book.

I love it because I can store my entire nook library on it and carry it with me wherever I go. Anytime I have some free time on my hands, whether it is in the waiting room at a medical or dental office or a leisure Sunday morning outside, I can simply pull my nook simple touch with glowlight out and pick up reading where I last left off. Battery Life Battery lasts me several days without needing recharged, and when it does need recharging it does so quickly. Book Choices/Variety Larger selection of free and low-priced ebooks compared to kindle. Readability I prefer my nook simple touch to an actual book, paperback or hardback. The glowlight is especially handy as I tend to read a lot at night when everyone else is asleep. Ease of Use Couldn't be any simpler. In my opinion, an actual book is more difficult to handle, as you have to constantly flip the page and add a booklight for reading in low-light situations. With the nook simple touch with glowlight you can turn the page and turn on the glowlight with no more than the simple touch of a button. Design Design is very practical, easy to use, and durable. Durability Mine travels everywhere with me.

I had gotten the Nook when it first came out because it was the best eReader out there in my opinion. It was very easy to use. With just a swipe of a hand I could turn the pages, and it was easy on the eyes. Small enough to bring around to places. I love having so many books available to me in such a small electronic. It makes packing SOOO much easier. The only one problem about it was that it didn't light up. And now with this new GlowLight eReader it's GREAT! I can read it on the bus when we're passing through tunnels on my commute. Or just in light that isn't so bright. It's great that you have the option of turning it on or off, so your eyes aren't strained when it doesn't need to be. I definitely recommend this product for anyone. At first you think it's too expensive for basically a book holder. But in the long run, because the purchase of ebooks are cheaper, it will even out. And your eyes will thank you. This is also very lightweight so you can bring it around anywhere with you. I usually just leave it in the glove compartment of my car. And it's not flashy, so you don't have to worry about people stealing it. I also like the fact that people can't actually see what book you're reading. I'm not a fan of people striking up conversation with me about a book I'm reading. I loose my train of thought.

My friend let me borrow her Nook Glow to read a book that she wasn't able to lend me on my simple touch. I absolutely fell in love with the glow. It didn't blind my husband all night like I do with my clip on light. I loved being able to adjust the brightness based on where I was. The only downside I could see was my friend dropped her Nook and her dog stepped on it, creating a tiny little scratch that doesn't glow. Not Nook's fault, but her dog... just a bummer a scratch hinders the glow! I love how light the Nook is. I was always one of those people who thought I'd never like an e-reader because I love books, I love the smell, look, etc. But, sometimes the large hardcover books are heavy! I lay down and feel like I'm going to drop the book on my face. The Nook is light enough to carry in my purse, very slim, doesn't hurt when I drop it on my face at night (as badly), and I don't lose my place! Also love that it feels like I'm reading a book with the way the pages look. Battery Life I was very surprised at how much this compares to the battery life of my plain simple touch!

This reader stands up to the other more expensive options with many of same features that will not leave you disappointed. The backlight can get a little bright for night reading but is adjustable...depends on your preference. Durable, inexpensive, and sleek.

This reader is so great for those of us who like to read in bed and not disturb our partner. When I cannot sleep I pick this up and start reading and soon enough it is back to sleep. I have another tablet that I tried useing a clip on light but it was very hard to change pages and such due to the heavy clip on. Book Choices/Variety Excellent choice of books of different types as well as different cost for the books. Readability Excellent clear screen Ease of Use Smooth touch and fast reaction.
