At my local beauty store I was given a sample of the BareMinerals moisturizer for combination skin if I purchased over a certain amount. I usually use just the cheap Clean and Clear brand just at my local grocery or retail store, so I was interested to see how this would be different. Especially given that I love BareMinerals foundation and that is what I wear everyday. I wanted to see how this would perform, with the product set it was supposed to be used with. I must say this product really was awesome. It absorbed well, felt very light weight, didn't cause me to break out or make my skin feel oily at all. It didn't have much of a smell in my opinion and it really made my skin look healthy and glow. On the other hand I try to be practical and budget. For me I think this moisturizer is great, but is it so awesome it's worth paying four times what I was paying for my Clean and Clear moisturizer? No probably not. Therefore coming from a financial point of view, if you can afford this and already use the Bare Escentuals line and want a great moisturizer, I would totally recommend this. However if you are on a budget like me, you might want to look elsewhere.

I am a huge fan of Bare Escentuals BareMinerals and own several products from this brand. With that being said, I am sad that Bare Escentuals BareMinerals Purely Nourishing Moisturizer Combination Skin simply did not work for my skin. The product overall is a little expensive but affordable. I have combination skin and since this moisturizer is aimed at those with my type of skin I was excited to use it. It provided a decent amount of moisture but too much for me. It was just a tad too thick and I would not be able to wear makeup over this product which is very important to me. It did not clog my pores too much nor did it break me out so that was a good thing but I could not get over the thickness of the product overall. I am sure that it would work well for others but for anyone who is like me and prefers to wear something that can not be felt this product does not make the cut. Effectiveness Great product, too thick for me. Ease of Application Easy to apply. Scent Lovely scent!

I have an oily T-zone with sensitive cheeks. This helps to absorb the oil while giving my cheeks the moisture they need. Effectiveness It controls the oil without clogging pores. It moisturizes and soothes my sensitive cheeks. Ease of Application I love that this is a pump bottle. It makes it easy to get the right amount. Scent There's a slight, spa-like scent. Nice, but not over-powering.

I have normal-to-oily skin (mostly oily) so I tend to use serums more than moisturizers. When I got this Bare Escentuals sample, I almost threw it away. I was a little bothered that it contaisn alcohol, which I tend to avoid. However, I have since read that neither cetyl alcohol or behenyl alcohol are skin irritants. Plus, I saw that it is for combination skin, so I decided to try it after all. Effectiveness By noon, the oil in my face has usually started to come to the surface. My T-Zone is first, followed by my eyelids. Imagine my surprise when I checked the mirror to blot my face and there was no shine to blot away! That never happens to me when using a moisturizer, even a lightweight one. And the shine-free moisture lasted all day. Maybe I can give up the blotting sheets for good. Ease of Application Interestingly, this moisturizer isn't the lightest I've ever tried. Even though it has some texture, it absorbs quickly and doesn't leave behind any residue. I still only use a touch, though, so as not to overdo it. I think it will last a long time. Scent The scent is okay. It's pretty minimal and smells kind of "earthy," like clay. At any rate, the scent disappears quickly. Also, it doesn't contain artificial fragrances (which is a good thing in my opinion).
