The Sunbeam Back to Basics Smoothie Freeze is basically a blender with a nozzle to dispense the liquid into a glass instead of pouring into a glass.It is not a bad product, however, in my kitchen it is unnecessary because my blender does the same job. The blade is almost identical to that of my blender which does the same job.If you have the storage space for an extra appliance or love smoothies and make them often this might be a product you would consider buying, however, neither pertains to me so I find this an average kitchen item.Cleaning is easy, as you can stick the pieces in the dishwasher, however, don't forget to unscrew the nozzle and wash separately or food and moisture will be trapped in it and rot. I found this out the hard way when I noticed a smell coming from my cabinet when I opened it. Gross!

My husband and I were given the **Back to Basics Smoothie Freeze for Christmas a couple of years ago. Truthfully, I believe it was a "re-gift". :) We rarely ever make and drink smoothies at home. We mainly use our **Back to Basics Smoothie Freeze to make milkshakes. It makes the ice cream just the right consistency in a quick amount of time. We have also used the **Back to Basics Smoothie Freeze on New Year's Eve to make mixed drinks. It worked very well for that purpose too. :) I have no idea what these cost, but I will say that if you are an avid smoothie drinker and maker, then the **Back to Basics Smoothie Freeze is the product for you!!! However, if you are NOT an avid smoothie maker and drinker, don't waste your money!!!! Our's rarely comes out of the cabinet, in fact, most of the time, we don't even remember that we have it. ********

The Back to Basics Smoothie Freeze makes the best smoothies for me.  The one I purchased about 3 years ago has a white finish.  It comes with three speeds, pulse, low/dispense and high.  It come with a six cup capacity plastic mixing container and is easy to clean. You don't have to worry about dropping it or breaking it.  It also comes with a stir stick, lid, valve and lever to dispense the smoothie mix.   I make a variety of fruit smoothies and protein shakes.  You can make thick or thin smoothies.  My most popular smoothie is the strawberry, banana, blueberry, pineapple, a shot of soy protein powder and organic pineapple juice.  I use it to blend food and make salsas.  This smoothie freeze come with a variety of recipes like: strawberry banana supreme, raspberry sunrise, berry blast, raspberry cream, orange banana cream, strawberry lemon surprise, lemon louie, peach refresher, banana lime sublime, pina colada, mango tango and hawaiian holiday. It is easy to clean and dishwasher safe. Great product.

The Back-To-Basics Smoothie Freeze is a very different kind of blender.  It is a counter-top blending machine which comes with changeable plug/pour spout feature.  There is a whole in the top of the lid, which allows the pusher bar to go through.  There are only two speeds to worry about, low and high.  No more confusing buttons to try to figure out which one to push!  The Back-To-Basice Smoothie Freeze can puree, chop, and even crush ice.  In our house we have not only made various fruit smoothies with this product, but we have also made home-made milkshakes, blended drinks, and I have even pureed tomatoes for home use in canning!  It is so versatile, my husband even offers to make me drinks on the weekend!  The Back-To-Basics Smoothie Freeze cleans up easily too!  The entire base comes apart for cleaning, and all parts are dish-washer safe.  My only complaint is that the pour spout can be difficult to clean, I have to use pipe cleaners, and the base unscrews backwards!    You really have to pay attention to the arrows on the bottom, because otherwise you simply cannot open it!  Great product, try one today!
