great way to shop with baby

This backpack works well if you have a little one that you want to keep close to your heart. Simply strap and go. The only things I didn't like was that getting her out of the backpack required me taking it off and laying her in the seat. Getting her in required the same drill.  When she was smaller it seemed to swallow her whole, but as she got bigger i didn't feel like i was suffocating her as much.   I still would use this product again with next child!

Great Baby Trend Backpack Baby Carrier

4

If you like hiking, traveling, sight-seeing, then this Baby Trend Backpack Baby Carrier is a great addition to your gear.  Sometimes it isn't always convenient to push a stroller through parks or when hiking, and why should you have to leave your kids out of the adventure and seeing nature along with you?  The Baby Trend Backpack Baby Carrier has worked great for us to keep in shape, go on family hiking outings, and be able to have the kids with us too.  When choosing a backpack baby carrier it's a hard decision because there are so many different ones out in stores today.  This one has always worked great for us though.  It's comfortable for myself or my husband to wear, and it's comfortable for either of our children.  Fits a child up to 35 pounds, the Baby Trend Backpack Baby Carrier folds up conveniently making it easy to put in the car, and the fabric is washable in case our kids spill juice on it.  Overall, it was a great purchase that is well used and has been worth it.

Good one

we purchased this backpack for an upcoming oversear trip and used it extensively there. the place that we went to had lot of beaches and bike trails and this was a boon to us to use. but when the baby fell asleep in the back pack it was rather difficcult to get her out if it, it was also difficult to adjust the various harness and belts in the back pack to fit us. but finally we figured it out. it was also quite bulky making it difficult for us to carry the baby in the back pack for a lon g stretch. but after we came back from the trip we have been using this back pack frequently to our trips to the malls and shops and we have actually grown quite fond of it. we have also practiced to take the baby out of it.

Baby Trend Backpack is a must have!

4

We purchased the Baby Trend Backpack Baby Carrier before the birth of our first daughter.  It was a great item, especially since my husband preferred it to the stroller when he was out with her.  Not too bulky but kept baby tight and secure.  I noticed that she tended to sleep most of the time when she was in it.  Probably cause she was so snuggled so close.  It also gave me the ability to keep my hands free to multi-task -- shopping, cleaning, and other chores became much more manageable after our purchase.  The only down side I noticed was it was a little difficult to get baby in and out -- especially when I didn't have another person helping me.  You also need to be careful when buckling the safety harness.  It's fairly easy to pinch the baby when trying to get her buckled in to place.  Other than that I would definitely recommend this to anyone.  We had 2 more daughters and used this just as much with them as we did with the first one.  Definitely a must have for any new or experienced parent!

Love this baby backpack!

We used this backpack for both of our daughters when they were little. It's good quality for the reasonable price. We shopped around a bit before deciding on this one and were very happy with our purchase. Our daughter fit very comfortably in the seat and we felt she was secure. We also liked the sunshade provided. Overall the backpack was surprisingly comfortable to wear due to the waist strap which redistributes the weight. One of the nicest features is the convertability of this pack. You can use it as a backpack or transform it into a two wheeled stroller. Though this feature isn't as easy to use as a regular stroller, it was nice to have the option. We were walking around San Francisco and found that being able to convert to the stroller was a nice option for public transportation. Overall we were very pleased with the performance of this backpack. For use during walking, hiking, etc. it's a great value. I would definitely recommend this!

Works Ok

There are a few benefits that this item has, or else I would have scored much lower because ours was completely torn up after going through use for one child.  We ended up having to buy another baby carrying backpack (Tough Traveler) used, because they are SO expensive.  It lasted through two big baby boys, and Mom's back survived to tell about it!  Anyhow, here are the benefits as promised:*Super adjustable for total comfort!**Shoulder strap load lifters!**Wide padded hip belt!**Carry handle!**2 bottle holders!**Mesh suspension to keep you cool!**Parent's zipper pouch to hold everything!**Large pouch for diapers, wipes, toys, etc!**Pack can stand alone!**Weighs less than 5 pounds!**Sun shield **Machine washable!* Now, with having said the above.  It may be worth it if your child doesn't use the carrier but on zoo trips etc.  But I live in the city and walk every where and really needed a good back support, a carrier that can stand up on a table or bench while babies in it so you don't have to kill your back lifting.  It needs storage, and to be weather friendly.  In Seattle, the Tough Traveler is a must with the rain shield.  It works wonders!

The Baby Trend Backpack Baby Carrier help me get my hands free.

The Babytrend Backpack Baby Carrier is a great edition to any home, as it definately was to mine.  It was one of my favorite Christmas gifts that I have ever received!  It allows me to have my hands free to do other things and I always know where the baby is (and what he is doing)!  I loved the way it feels, not too heavy and the shoulder straps are very comfortable.  It has a nice clean and modern look that goes with any outfit or season.  I also appreciate that it is very portable and convenient to use.  I really enjoyed putting the baby stroller in storage and just using my backpack when I go shopping instead.  My friends all ask where I got it and if I like it or not.  I tell them that it was a very thoughtful Christmas present from my husband and have been making good use of it.  They all responded that they would like one too and are going to mention it to their husbands as well.  I hope that they have as much fun with it as I have with mine.

Outdoor Family Must

Do you like to be outside?  If you do and you are having a baby, you definitly should get a hiking carrier.  You will be able to do so many of your activities that you did before the baby, and baby can just come along with you.  This is a much more sturdy type of baby carrier than some of the others that I have.  It is good for when your baby is bigger and can hold their own head up.  I would not use it before then.  But it is great for hiking, going on nature walks and things like that. Want to hear something funny?  I also put the baby in this carrier while I was chasing some other kids around the yard!  And it totally worked- I got to play too instead of just holding the baby and watching the other kids.  I do recommend, if you are going to do that, get a more comfortable carrier for playing chase, like maybe an Ergo.  It kind of hurt my back after a little bit.  But that was with a 9-month-old in it.

Baby Trend Deluxe Backpack is lightweight with lots of extras

This **Baby Trend deluxe backpack **has so many features! - aluminum base (base weighs less than 5 pounds but backpacks are typically heavier and bulkier than cloth carriers) - backpack can stand alone (which is helpful when trying to put it on and take it off) - padded shoulder pads and hip belt (this is very helpful because the metal bar would probably rub my back if it weren't for this padding) - 5-point safety harness (good safety feature but it does make it harder to get the baby in and out) - padded leg openings - head support - can hold babies up to 35 pounds - sun shield and plastic rain cover (great idea to help prevent sunburns and to help protect baby if weather changes quickly) - storage pouch, zippered pockets, and bottle pouches (these come in handy for carrying snacks, drinks, and diapers/wipes) I did not have a **baby backpack** with my first two children, but when I saw this **Baby Trend pack** at a consignment shop, I jumped at the opportunity. I thought it might be helpful to put the baby in a backpack if the older two children were riding bikes or if I were trying to cook or clean while the baby was in a whiny mood. The baby was excited about this backpack until I tried to put her in it. Then she acted as if I were trying to throw her in a sack to drown her or something. I discovered that the seatbelt straps had managed to work their way under her legs and ended up having to pick her up and start all over again. Eventually I got her in the backpack and buckled up, but she was not a happy camper. Once she was on my back and we were moving around outside, she settled down but tended to strain as much as she could to see what was ahead of us. She has ended up falling asleep in the backpack more than once. Mission accomplished. The website mentions that you may clean the backpack with mild soap and water applied with a sponge or cloth. I have not needed to clean mine yet. The website also mentions that if the adult needs to bend down that she should bend at the knees and keep her back up to prevent the baby from falling forward. Wearing a backpack did make me a bit off-balance when first putting it on, but I was able to quickly adjust. The Baby Trend website did mention a recall on one of their baby backpacks, but it was not this model. **My Viewpoint:** This **Baby Trend backpack** seems to be very sturdy with a convenient design. If you are looking for a baby backpack, you might want to give this one a try, but I haven't tried any other backpacks to compare to this one at this time. I give the **Baby Trend Deluxe Backpack** my thumbs up.
