babylock Tempo a great crafter's machine
babylock advertises the Tempo as a quilter's or crafter's machine, and as an avid sewer, I'd have to say it definately fits the bill! Its a great all around machine with a lot of capabilities for various projects. I actually won this machine at a sewing expo, and at first thought I'd try to sell it and buy an embroidery machine, but the more I read the manual, the more I wanted to take it out of the box and use it myself. Finally, I decided to keep it, and I'm really glad I did. This machine comes with 7 feet, a twin needle, and other accessories that you would expect to come with a machine. I really like the stich pattern plate that sits on top of the machine- its like a shortcut to getting the stitch you want set up, without flipping through the book to find out. There are several optional accessories that can be purchased for the Tempo, including quilting feet for both 1/4" and freehand quilting. Its easy to thread, bobbin winding is simple, and much of the work is done by pushing buttons. I can only imagine the work my grandmother could have accomplished had she had such an advanced machine. I cannot comment on the price, since I have no clue what this machine retails for, having won it.
