I bought Avalon Organics shampoo from the Natural Products section of the grocery store.  It is widely available.  What I like about it most is that just a little dab of shampoo creates tons of lather.  It rinses clean, leaving no residue behind.  I never have to add a second round of cleaning, even when I have skipped a day or two of washing my hair.  I like that there are no ingredients in the shampoo that are chemical based; it contains alot of botanicals that naturally enhance the shine and luster.  It is gentle enough to use every day, but strong enough to cut through all of the various styling products that I put on my hair.  I have curly hair, and unlike alot of shampoos, the Avalon Organics does not make my hair frizzy.  It is also kind to processed/color treated hair--it will not fade the color.  The smell of the shampoo is to die for!  I am up at 4:15 every morning, and I love the way it makes the bathroom smell.  It is definitely worth the little extra cost.
