I recently purchased the Ariens Lawn Edger Model #986101 from my local Home Depot.  It is quite a large machine, and I was a bit intimidated, but ultimately ended up purchasing it.  I got it home, and the first wonderful thing about it was the ease of operation.  I am not a large person, a fairly petite woman, and this machine started on the first pull.  Also, although it is a heavy machine and could be used by professionals, it is easy to handle and I had no problem operating it to edge the entire acre and a half of property I own.  It is fast, efficient and the way it makes your yard look when you are finished, it really looks like I had a professional lawn service come by to do my property.  I highly recommend this piece of equipment, and I also like that the orange color matches my Husqvarna riding mower.  I would say that I am very impressed by the quality of the edger, it is not cheap plastic and I think and hope it will hold up for many years to come.  I have found that in general the reviews are quite high for this, so don't scrimp.  Pay the little bit extra for a whole lot of quality.  You won't be sorry you did!
