Best Keyboard I've Ever Used

5

Ever since I first tried a MacBook out at an Apple store, I have been in love with the feel of it. Each key is individually raised from the stainless steal surface. Most keyboards have keys very squished together unlike this keyboard which has the keys spread apart. Most keyboards put out a sound that can be very annoying. The Apple keyboard has a sound unlike any other keyboard. It isn't nearly as loud and annoying. I think I type faster on this keyboard then I ever have. It took a little bit of time to get used to at first, but that happens with all keyboards! It connects to your Macintosh computer over Bluetooth. That means no annoying wires or USB receivers. I can take this keyboard anywhere in my room without it disconnecting. It is very thin aside from the bump that holds the batteries, but the bump makes typing easier anyway. The batteries have lasted for a long time and I still haven't had to replace them. This is a great keyboard that I would strongly suggest getting.

I would highly recommend this keyboard it is of high quality and really improves your typing ablitiy and really increases your speed. In the long run it is really worth the cost to pay for high quality products like this one. It types effortlessly. I just replaced my old Imac keyboard desktop the one that was encased with clear plastic it was at least five years old. My new numeric keyboard is extremely lightweight and very thin will fit in just about any area.

A decent bluetooth keyboard - but it's missing some things

This keyboard was included with my iMac.  It looks great on the desk, is pretty conservative in terms of batteries, and is very, very easy to type on.  The keys are soft, but not squishy, and make very little noise when typing.  However, the main concern I had when I bought it has remained for nearly every day I used it.  There's no number pad!  For whatever reason, the wired version of this keyboard includes a number pad, but the wireless version does not.  When I'm entering data into a spreadsheet, this can become a serious issue.  However, I knew what I was getting into, and I chose the keyboard without the number pad.  As strange as it sounds - for data entry I often find myself switching to a laptop so I can use a number pad.  Who would have thought that'd be the case?! The function keys at the top of the keyboard are pretty great.  I don't often use the Dashboard or Exposé keys, but the iTunes keys and the brightness controls are essential.  I couldn't imagine having to enter System Preferences (or setting up a key combo) to change brightness on this display at night.  Literally one button to raise it and one button to lower it. The function (fn) key causes me some issues sometimes, mostly involving thinking its the control key.  Often, I'll try to copy a screenshot to the keyboard (a combination involving pressing the control key) and will not find it when I attempt to paste it, as I was hitting function.  This is only a minor problem, as they still get saved to the desktop in that situation. I'd recommend the keyboard unless you need to do a heavy amount of data entry frequently.  Luckily, I don't need to do it a lot every day.

The Apple Wireless Keyboard is an essential Mac accessory.

I originally purchased this to use with my iPad but decided I didn't really need to use it with it so I switched it over to my Mac Mini when I purchased it.  It has performed perfectly for the past three months.  I love the aluminum look which perfectly matches the style of my Mac Mini.  I also love that it is incredibly thin and lightweight.  The Bluetooth connection is perfect and means absolutely no wires and that it can be placed in your lap to type or moved out of the way on your desk when it in use.  The only issues I have found with the keyboard are that it does go through batteries rather quickly, so be sure to use rechargeable batteries (AA) and keep an extra set (2) around for when it runs out.  The other thing that is unfortunate is that it does not have a numeric keypad.  This is not a huge deal ninety percent of the time, but for that other ten percent it is a nightmare.  This is easily solved by purchasing a bluetooth numeric keypad to use in the situations when you really do need just the numbers.  I would certainly recommend this, but keep in mind that it does require a period of adjustment to get used to the keys and layout.

Works Well

I've been using the Apply blutooth keyboard off and on for the last few months. I mainly use this with my ipad when I want to type out long posts or responses when on the road, though I have been known to use the keyboard with my laptop and even desktop computers. This keyboard works with Winodws with the software downloads, though it will work fine directly out of the box if you are not inclined to use the music, volume, or eject buttons. The quality of the keyboard, of course, is superb. My keyboard came with high quality duracell batteries, which I have had to change only once in several months of use. Otherwise, the keys all have a nice feel and response, so typing is not exactly a chore. A couple of downsides: There is no USB slot like on the bigger model, though this is to be expected considering the nature of the a battery-operated keyboard. Second, this keyboard has no keypad, but again, this is to be expected given the small size of the keyboard. Overall, it's great!

One of best keyboards I've used: Apple wireless keyboard

4

I've been using the apple wireless keyboard for over 6 months now. It's one of the best I've used. As a software developer i'm on it about 6-8 hours every day. I use the mouse less often which explains that i have older mighty mouse.  I'm a big fan of the low profile design. I'm like that less effort is required to press the keys. The clickety sound of the older mechanical keyboards is annoying, this one on the other hand has a soft sound and good feel when typing. What I would like however is that the keyboard could have had a bit bigger keys. The size of this thing is exactly what you get on on the macbook pros. I know its also meant to be portable. I would love if they had the regular keyboard with the numeric keyboard but in wireless. I don't carry this around, it sits on my desk and hence a bigger size might be more appealing.  The initial piece I bought was a faulty one and apple replaced it. It used to disconnect quite often and then reconnect within a second or two. The battery would drain out quite fast. Since I got the replacement its worked like a charm, battery life is nice, stays connected all the time.
