If you build a better mousetrap, the world will beat a path to your door, so they say.  Sometimes just coming up with something **different **does the trick.  Peapod has gotten with the program and started carrying an excellent line of gourmet sausages which I previously could only find at Trader Joe's, including a product I probably would have never thought up on my own -- ***Amylu Smoked Apple & Gouda Cheese Chicken Sausage***.  This sausage contains no pork products -- just skinless chicken breast and thigh meat, combined with apples, Gouda cheese, spices and flavors.  There are no artificial ingredients, preservatives, nitrites or MSG and the product is gluten-free. **STATS:** One sausage is a single serving which contains 110 calories with 50 calories from fat.  There are 5 grams Total Fat, 2 grams Saturated Fat, zero Trans Fat, 45 mg. Cholesterol, 540 mg. Sodium, 1% Total Carbs, less than one gram each Dietary Fiber and Sugars, and 13 grams Protein along with 4% (DV) each Calcium  and Iron and 6% Vitamin C. **MY VIEWPOINT:** ***Amylu Smoked Apple & Gouda Cheese Chicken Sausages*** are delicious, packing as they do a nice apple flavor without being overwhelmingly sweet.  Cooking instructions are given for stove top, grill, or microwave but I baked mine at 350 degrees for a half hour or so in my regular oven with a little water in the pan and ended up with nice chewy sausages which are a perfect substitute for hot dogs or Polish sausages but are delicious any time of day.  Today I ate a late breakfast of a dish of [Amy's Hot Cereal][1] topped with fresh blueberries and finished off with an ***Amylu Smoked Apple & Gouda Cheese Chicken Sausage***.     [1]: http://www.viewpoints.com/Amys-Organic-Bowls-Hot-Cereal-reviews
