The Amana 24 inch built in dishwasher is a good solid cleaning machine which can serve a busy family well. We went looking for a replacement dishwasher for our old dishwasher and found this moderately priced dishwasher which had all the basic features we wanted. There are two basic temperature settings - regular and high temp. The machine also has a heated dry setting. And while the machine is supposed to take care of food particles we do not rely on this feature. Our experience in general is that this feature doesn't work well and it was part of the demise of our former dishwasher. This dishwasher handles a moderate load in a reasonable amount of time and with very few dishes needing to be re-washed. I've found the dishes that do need to be re-washed are generally those that haven't been scraped well. The price was right and in addition we were able to get this model in black to match our current appliances. Overall I would say we are very happy with our purchase.

My boyfriend bought this exact same dishwasher for his house and I am so glad he did because now I know what not to buy for mine. Although there was no problem with the installation and it looked very nice, that is about all that it was good for. The noise it produced was extreme. It actually sounded like someone was pressure washing the kitchen floor and that seemed to never end because it ran and ran and ran some more. It usually took over an hour to wash the dishes and not one time did they dry. I ended up having to leave the door open when the cycles was done, overnight and putting the dishes away the next day. The dishes did come out clean out though but I suppose they would after spending such a long time in the dishwasher. I was only familiar with the Amana name prior to this purchase as I have never tried any of their products and after seeing this, I never will. I do recall it was much lower in price than any of the other ones and now I know why.

We have this dishwasher in our brand new townhome, so we are the fist to use it! I was so excited! Its perfect for my husband and my 15 month old son. I Can put all my sons bottles on top and everything else on the bottom. Everything loads very easy, and I love that it has the utensil holder that can be removed. It also has a tow little racks you can pull down on top and lay stuff on it. Perfect for my sons straws! The cleaning time is about an hour and a half on normal cycle, that's normally what I always use and everything comes out clean! It has a heavy and normal and a 1 hour cycle option you can choose from, which is always a plus to have options. IT ALSO LOCKS! So my son cant open it! The front off it Is supposed to be stainless steal, but I have noticed what looks like a few little rust marks. I've tried cleaning it and nothing works. The dishwasher itself is pretty quite, its perfect for a new little family!

This dishwasher gets the job done, but is nothing special. Dishes are clean, but the cycle is a bit long, and a bit loud. Nothing bad to say really, just nothing spectacular either. Noise Level The noise level is a bit higher than I would have expected. It is no more quiet than my old dishwasher that this Amana recently replaced. Cleaning Time I swear that this dishwasher runs way to long. It will be running well after the usual hour mark. I have recently been setting this dishwasher on the 1 hour wash setting...and the cycle STILL lasts over an hour. I have never seen a dishwasher run so long. Loading Flexibility It has the same general layout as most other dishwashers. Performance Like I have said before, this Amana Dishwasher gets the job done and results in clean dishes. It is just not a spectacular dishwasher that amazes. Design The stainless steel design of this dishwasher is pretty attractive and fits in with my decor quite well. Durability the durability is still uncertain as I have only had this unit installed for less than a year.
