I've used this product on very thick, wavy, color treated hair for over a year and can simply state, USE IT, trust me! It makes my hair feel so soft, silky and luxurious. And it does not leave any kind of weighted down or coated feeling to my hair either. Scent I don't know how to describe the scent, but very fresh. Smells wonderful and I always get comments from people that my hair smells great!

In my search for the ideal SLS-free shampoo, I came across this Alterna Caviar shampoo. I wasn't sure if I wanted to make the investment for a full size bottle, so I purchased the trial size set first, which still cost a pretty penny, but at least it worked well for me. I found it this shampoo to be high quality and gentle, a product I do feel very confident about for caring for my color treated and sometimes damaged hair. The only drawback for me was the price: I'm not sure if I would splurge for this shampoo regularly, but it was not a let down. Effectiveness It was gentle and rich on my color treated hair. I didn't think it was amazing but I do think it worked quite well. So yes, it was a effective and gentle and all of that. I would use this shampoo again because it does work fine. Scent I didn't find the scent to be extraordinary, but it wasn't bad either. The fragrance, for me, was not the biggest draw although, like I said, I think it smells fine, just not outrageously great.

The Caviar Seasilk Anti Aging shampoo is probably one of my all time favorite of all top of the line shampoos on the market today. I love how it makes my hair super shiny, and soft.   I actually sat through a trichology class and had my scalp analyzied before using the product.  Let me tell you, it was not pretty. The shampoo itself, is sulfate free, which means it is color safe.  It won't cause my hair color from fading, and it will protect my color from massive uva/uvb damage. The seasilk itself is what makes my hair shiny, and smooth.  A plus for me, since I usually like to wear my hair sleak and straight.  It's also good for curls or waves as it adds moisture, and we all know that moisture is what helps to define a curl. After trying a sample of the product, I went back to the store that I purchased and re analyzed my scalp.  Huge difference.  While my scalp was not perfect, I seen more pink in my scalp, less build up around my root, and a lot more smooth hair shaft.   Great product, a little pricey, but I say it's worth it if you want to keep your hair.

I have been a hairdresser for almost thirty years and have used so many lines of shampoos, but when I first started using the Alterna line, I thought it was going to be like all the rest. I couldn't have been more wrong. Their Caviar Seasilk Shampoo is the richest, most luxurious shampoo I have ever used. I never recommend a shampoo to my clients unless I have used it on myself. My hair has been color-treated and chemically-relaxed. It is super- dry and frizzy. After using this shampoo for a week, I noticed the biggest difference in my hair that I had never seen before. I could finally style it without it looking like a frizzball. My clients kept on noticing the difference and asked me what was I doing to my hair that was different. At first, I had to think what was I doing different, but then I realized it had to be the Caviar shampoo I was using. I started using it on my clients and recommending it to them, and they started noticing a big change in their hair. They loved it. It is the best shampoo ever. I make great retail sales and my clients love their hair and they look great. It's a win win!!!
