My cats would not eat the Alley Cat food. I thought they may just be spoiled but the stray cats wouldn't touch it either.

I have fed Alley Cat to all the cats I have ever owned, indoor and outdoor strays...it is reasonably priced and all the cats have liked it, I feed it along with canned food daily...not mixed

This dry cat food is not preferred by our animals at all. It is one step above Wal-Mart's Special Kitty brand which doesn't speak much for it. Quality of Ingredients Lots of grains and filler - not good quality - works if you are on a serious budget but there will be heck to pay when cleaning the litterbox! Flavor Selection Chicken and Tuna flavor is supposed to be a cat's best friend - not so.

Alley Cat may be the cheapest cat food on the shelves, but my cats won't even touch it! The morsels are rock-hard and look flavorless. My cats would smell Alley Cat then immediately turn to walk away. I'm all about savvy shopping, but Alley Cat is not the way to save money. Quality of Ingredients The cat food morsels were rock-hard. I stepped on one once and it was worse than stepping on a Lego.

Alley cat is not my cat's preferred dry cat food. He use to like it and I do not know if they changed the formula for making it but he does not care for it anymore. The last few times that I have purchased it I had to add water to make a gravy so he would eat it or mix in some other food with it. He turns his nose up at it all the time now and walks away. On a good note however, he never had an issues with throwing up and seemed to be fine for a sensitive stomach cat. The price is very competitive being one of the cheapest dry cat foods that I have found and is about 2.75 to 3.00 a bag. Maybe my cat just is changing his taste and I would at least try it if I were you because your cat may like it and have no problem with the taste. I always did use it. I will probably try it again in a few months to see if there is a difference because the price is good. Maybe they need to add more flavors as I have only found this in two flavors so far.

My mom first introduced my household to Alley Cat Chicken & Tuna Flavors Dry Cat Food for our cat. She has seven cats (Yes, seven cats), so in order to keep costs down, she uses this brand of cat food. All of her cats have always enjoyed it and it seems to do them well as they all have beautiful coats, a lot of energy, and no gastro-intestinal issues. My cat was having some digestive issues with the more expensive "premium" brands of cat food. I decided to give Alley Cat a try. When I brought home the bag from the store, she was walking around it in circles meowing her little heart out. I cut it open, poured it into the food storage bin, and put a cup into her little bowl. She loved it! She was even loving/rubbing on my feet and legs when she was done eating it. The best part was- no more digestive issues! I like being able to find an affordable cat food which my cat enjoys. She seems to really like the taste of it as well. I only want what is best for her, and I am proud to have my Alley Cat.

My boyfriend and I took in a stray cat and since it was really short notice we bought the cheapest cat food that the store offered, which happened to be Ally Cat cat food. She would not eat it, she kept acting like she was starving and would not eat the dry cat food we gave her so we had to keep cooking our hamburger meat to feed her until we could get her something else that she would eat. My friend even tried to feed it to the stray cats that hang around the dumpsters near the apartment buildings down the street and they would hardly touch it so now we have a bag of cat food sitting in our kitchen that we cant get anything to eat. As a pet lover I want only the best for animals they are like family to me, and getting a food she likes is important, I want her to be happy and healthy so she and her four beautiful perfect newborn kittens can remain a part of our family for years to come.

I discovered Alley Cat brand cat food a few years ago.  Since it was made by Purina, I knew it would be good for my cat.   I once had a vet tell me he saw more intestinal problems related to high priced pet foods, and he recommended the simple nutritious ones, especially Purina.  This cat food is not only priced low ( about like the store brand), but my cats love it as well.  All the flavors seem to be equally liked by my pets.  I have had several cats over the years, and all of them have taken to this food heartily.  It is not always easy to find in the stores I shop at, and when I do find it, I stock up.  I believe that this cat food is as nutritious for your cat as the higher priced foods such as Meow Mix or Cat Chow, and your cats will like the taste just as well.  It makes me and my cats happy by providing an excellent value, and according to my cats, an excellent taste. I would recommend it to anyone who feeds their cats dry food.
