My hair does not require any special treatment (due to coloring), so I cannot comment on how this shampoo effects treated hair. I can say that this shampoo helps to hydrate my hair, helping to keep it soft and manageable. This shampoo lathers very well, so a little goes a long way. My favorite thing about this shampoo is the scent. I love the smell of passion fruit. Other brands I have looked at usually do not offer this scent. Effectiveness As this shampoo suggests, it does help to moisturize my hair. I feel my hair is softer and more easily managed after I use this product. This product also lathers up well allowing me to use less, and for the bottle to last longer.

Great shampoo if you have dry hair. Cleans and nourishes. Leaves hair very clean and shiny, and hair doesn't get brittle even if you wash and blow-dry daily. Probably not a good choice for a teen or anyone with oily hair. Pleasant light lavender fragrance. Effectiveness Cleans very nice, leaves hair easy to manage. Scent Fragrance is light and natural.

I am writing this review after using the whole bottle of Avalon Organics Therapeutic Shampoo (Nourishing Lavender). I saw this product at local Whole Foods and decided to give it a try. I wanted to like this shampoo as I generally like Lavender smell and liked the idea of feeling relaxed in a shower at the end of the day with a nice lavender scent. However, the experience of using the shampoo did not surprise me nor disappoint me. I gave 3 star (average) review to this product because it did what it supposed to do, but nothing more. To be a little more precise about my experience with this shampoo: I liked that this shampoo left my hair clean (or at least that's how I felt) and sudes well, but I couldn't help but notice that it left my hair a little dry and coarse even when used with the matching conditioner (Avalon Organic Botanicals Therapeutic Conditioner). I found the scent to be a little too strong to my taste. I finished the whole bottle but probably would not buy this shampoo again unless I do not have any other choice.

I received a ton of my mothers leftover bottles of Avalon Organics shampoos and conditioners (she's decided to start making her own).  I've used this product for about a week now, and I am completely disgusted...literally.  My hair feels completely nasty!  I have very long hair.  This product has made my once beautiful hair feel like straw, and my scalp and roots are extremely oily.  The after smell of this product is very nausiating.  I can't even stand to be in my own body right now.  After I finish writing this I am going to the store to buy new shampoo and conditioner...yuck!

I decided to try this shampoo and its matching conditioner despite its mixed reviews. It is supposed to be nourishing and left my hair feeling like straw. I also have no allergies to anything and this product made my whole body break out in a rash and itchiness. I had to bathe in aveeno oatmeal to calm my skin down.

I received the Avalon Organics shampoo in Lavendar as a birthday present. I typically try to use organic and natural beauty products and loved the scent of this shampoo. I was surprised when I washed my hair how much I did not like this product though. I went into the shower with greasy gross hair. Usually after I shampoo, my hair feels pretty nice and then after I condition it feels wonderful-clean and smooth. I did not experience those feelings with this shampoo. After shampooing, my hair felt worse the the dirty state I entered the shower with. It felt coarse and snarly, not smooth or easy to work my hands through. It still felt dirty. I accompanied the shampoo with the matching conditioner. My hair felt a little better after using that, but when I got out of the shower my hair was not shiny and clean feeling. When I dried my hair, it continued to be different. It did not have a shiny smooth look. It look limp and dull. I would recommend that you try a different brand of organic shampoo/conditioner.
