Acuvue 2 keep my eyes feeling fresh and free

4

I have been using Acuvue2 for the past few years and they are the only product that allow my eyes to breathe and feel free. In the past I was using other brands and my eyes seemed to always dry out and itch constantly. When I switched to acuvue2 I was amazed at how I didn't rub my eyes constantly when I used to constantly with the other brands I had been using before. It is so easy for me to wake up in the morning and just throw them in my eyes so I can see easily and perfectly all day long.

Not for sensitive eyes

Acuvue contact lenses fit very comfortably, but I find with sensitive allergy prone eyes, this brand doesn't do much for keeping eyes moisturized. The first few hours of wear are fine with no irritation, but around lunch it feels like a sticker on my eye. I literally must add drops before removing the contacts; otherwise, it feels as if I am taking my eye along with the contact.-Yike!

Satisfied customer

I've been using the Acuvue 2 contact lenses for at least 10 years. I have tried other brands and I felt they were not as good. I can wear a pair of Acuvue 2 for up to a month before I start to feel like I need to replace them. They fit well and I do not feel them in my eyes, unlike another brand I tried. My eye doctor always says that my eyes look healthy and my contacts look clean at my regular eye exams and I think that this is in part because of the quality of my lenses. I think the price per box is pretty reasonable too. I have had a few lenses tear over the years, but that isn't too bad considering everything. The foil on the package of the individual lenses are a little hard to peel back, but I think all lenses come that way. You should be aware that for the last few years I have been told by more than one place that the Acuvue 2 are being discontinued, however I am still able to order them. So, I do not know if and when they really will be discontinued, but it is something to consider.

I can see clearly now

Acuvue 2 lenses are soft contacts made from a material called Hydrogel (etafilcon A). They can be used to correct near or farsightedness. The name comes from the fact they are designed to wear daily for two weeks before discarding. They are available in prescriptions ranging from -12.00 to +8.00 and with a base curve of either 8.3 or 8.7mm. The diameter of all lenses is 14.0mm. The contacts are tinted a very slight blue colour, which does not cause your eyes to look different, but it helps you to see the contact (which can be very helpful if you drop it in the sink). If you want to change the appearance of your eyes they are a number of coloured options available; however I have never tried any of these. Acuvue 2 contact lenses were the first form of vision correction I had ever used. Despite being new to contacts, I found them very, very easy to use. I've never had a problem inserting or remove the lenses. There is a 1-2-3 mark to help you insure you do not put the lense in inside out. I found this quite helpful when I was new to contacts. Now, I can tell by the shape (they are bowl shaped when correct and a bit more saucer shaped when inside out). Once the contacts are in place I can't feel them at all. Over the years new and "improved" contacts came to the market. There were contacts made to keep moisture in your eyes better, ones that allowed more oxygen in to your eyes, ones that were better for allergy sufferers, etc. I was persuaded by my eye doctor to try other lenses. Some where passable; others were painful; NONE were as good as Acuvue 2 lenses. I eventually decided to go against the advice of my eye doctor and return to using Acuvue 2 lenses. I have no intention of switching unless they stop making them (which they thankfully have no plans to do as they are still one of Acuvue's best sellers). I find Acuvue 2 lenses to be very high quality. In the 7 or so years I have worn them, I have maybe had 1 or 2 lenses damaged out of the package and another 6 or so ripped before the end of the two weeks. With proper care (see my review on Opti-free Express) I normally wear each pair for about 4 weeks before discarding. In contrast, I had more than those numbers damaged in the single year I wore Acuvue Hydraclear and the single month I wore Acuvue 1-Days. I cannot feel Acuvue 2 lenses in my eyes. I could feel every other type of contact I have tried. Also, my vision is extremely clear and sharp with these contacts. With some others (1-Days, Oasys, and Hydraclear) I sometimes felt my vision go a bit fluid or as if I were looking through very slightly wavy glass. I have never had these problems with the Acuvue 2 lenses.

Simple, clear contacts

5

I have been using the AcuVue 2 contacts for several years now.  I have loved them since I started using them!  They are simple, clear, and work great.  They are inexpensive compared to other contacts, but they still work great!  I have a lot of friends who have had laser surgery, but I don't think it is worthwhile since these contacts are so easy to wear and comfortable. I clean them every night with Oasis lens cleaner.  I don't do the one you have to rub, so I simply take the contacts out and soak them.  I wear them for 2-3 weeks, with no problems with keeping them clean.  I wear my contacts all day long and don't take them out until time for bed, so that is probably 16-18 hours per day.  I have had very little problem with tearing or nicking on these lenses.  They are also very easy to determine if they are inside out or rightside in, which I have had problems with previous lenses. Overall I would recommend these contacts!

Comfortable lenses for all day wear.

4

Acuvue 2 contact lenses are extremely comfortable lenses for all day wear. I have been wearing Acuvue 2 for several years now. In the past I had great difficulty in finding lenses that fit me comfortably, but the Acuvue 2 lenses do so. I wear them all my waking hours, taking them out before bed to clean and disinfect. The lenses are replaced every two weeks and the price is low enough that you don't mind having to do so. While any type of lens will occasionally rip, it is actually very rare that I have to dispose of a lens early due to damage. Sometimes the lenses do tend to become quite dry. While this is most likely a problem with my eyes due to medications, it would be nice if the lenses did hold more moisture. Overall, however, I am very pleased with the comfort and performance of my Acuvue 2 soft contact lenses.

Bothered my eyes

1

I am usually a fan of Acuvue contacts but these hurt my eyes tremendously.  Acuvue Advance lenses dried my eyes out and made me feel like I had something in my eye all the time.  I prefer acuvue advance or oasys better and won't purchase these again.
