Acana Ranchlands is like Dances with Wolves in a bowl!

4

That is, if Dances with Wolves was set in Alberta, Canada, and if the free-range bison had free-range cattle and lamb as buddies. Acana Ranchlands is the latest flavor in the Champion Pet Foods super-premium line of Acana dog food. The meats are all sourced locally from Canadian ranches and delivered fresh (never frozen), with no preservatives. My Goldens absolutely love the flavor and the kibble size is perfect for them (flat and round, about the size of a dime or penny). Their coats look great and the "output" is minimal. Just like the entire Acana line, this food is grain-free. The Ranchlands flavor includes 31% protein (the lowest level of the Acana varieties), with the primary meats being beef, bison and lamb - all human grade. Surprisingly, there is also some herring and salmon meal included, which contributes to a slight fishy smell when you open the bag (not what I was expecting, but a good source of Omega-3). The other ingredients include regionally-sourced vegetables and fruits, such as russet potatoes, sweet potatoes, alfalfa, peas, spinach and blueberries.
