I had seen the Bark Off advertised on TV and though it would be perfect for our German Shepherd mix dog, who barks everytime my husband takes the kids to the bus stop, or she sees the neighbor's dog through the window. We have a six month old baby and every single morning the barking wakes her up. I purchased the** Bark Off **at Bed Bath and Beyond. The sales associate there told me that her manager had great results using the Bark Off with her dog. I was cautiously optimistic. I started out with it on the low volume as we also have a puppy and I didn't want to hurt his ears. Our dog continued to bark. I turned it up to the high setting and it still did not effect her. We have a picture of her standing right next to the **Bark Off **and barking her head off! I would not recommend this product to anyone, and I will be returning ours to the store as soon as I can find the receipt. So save yourself some money and go for a real bark collar.

this product was so sensitive, even on the lowest setting that it was gonig off when our cats meowed or if we laughed too loud. at first we liked it as it worked and stopped his bark immediantly. then we noticed our dogs behavior changed overnight. he became subdued and did not play or jump around at all. he would cringe and slink past the place where the bark off was located and he stopped greeting our geusts at the door with his tail wagging. he seemed vey unhappy and afraid.i believe this product is too powerfull, and our house is rather small so that might be part of it but i think bark off hurts the dog and is cruel! when we turned it off and told our dog 'go ahead and bark" and then we said "ruff ruff!" loudly and he immediantly cringed and looked to the bark off. it took almost 48 hours for him to return to his happy self. unless you have serious problems and are desperate to stop barking i wouldn't advise using this product. i have read other reviews online that say the same thing, although not on the bark off website where there is not a place for reviews or to address returns.

I own 4 dogs and purchased bark off in an attempt to get them to stop barking every time someone comes through the door. It did absolutely nothing. Dogs all still barked just the same as they ever did.

I love my dogs but they go crazy when they see other dogs or even people walk near our yard.  When the doorbell rings or someone knocks on the door they go crazy.  I have to walk out the back door and around to the front because they are so wild at the sounds.  When there is thunder, fireworks or other loud noises, again they go crazy.  I was desparate to find something to help me to get them to stop doing this besides having to sedate them!  When I saw the Bark Off on tv I thought this just might be it.  But I have better luck just spritzing water in their face with a spray bottle than what the Bark Off did for me.  For my male dog, the Bark Off is only good for as a chew toy.  The ultrasonic, high pitch sound is supposed to be inaudible to human ears but evidently is also inaudible to dog ears because it really does not work.  I should have gone with my first instincts and not wasted my money on this.  Don't waste your money.

*Don't waste your money on this device. *Seen this device on TV and thought it would work on our dogs at home because they bark just about everytime someone leaves the house to either go shopping or just goes outside.   I'm sure some of those devices and products you see on TV  (as seen on TV)  work but this product I know for sure doesn't work and was a complete was of my Step-Father's money.   So, my step-father bought this item in hopes it would make the dogs stop barking everytime someone comes and goes outside.   I didn't help, all that happened was, the one dog stared at the device and just kept barking only stopping for a second or two.   Don't waste your money, if anything train your pet at an early age not to bark at certain times and maybe that will help more then wasting money on something you have seen on TV. My rating for this product is very low and I'm just glad it wasn't my money that was spent.

this product indicates that it will stop a dog from barking by giving a sound wave that only the pet can hear. I have two dogs one inside and one outside. I bought the product for my outside dog and some surrounding pets.  However, the product was located inside my house in the window seal of my kitchen window which indicates that it will work upto 50 feet.  Not only did it not affect the barking of my outside dog, when my inside dog was barking I held the device right in front of his face and it never affected him.  The item does not work as indicated nor does the item halfway work.  The dogs never seemed affected by the device and you never know if it is even producing any sound because it says it is not heard by the human ear.  So please do not wast your money on this product it is not worth your time or effort.

I have a Lab  who barks at her own shadow so when I saw this little tidbit at such a great price, I decided to give it a try.  My grandmother always told me you get what you pay for but in this case I don't think it was worth even the low price I paid. I installed the battery and turned it on.   Georgia was barking.  She stopped.  I was getting excited.  In a few minutes she started again and I turned it on.  No battery juice...I changed it for a new one and she stopped again.   The problem was....the battery went dead after 15min each time and I was using Duracell batteries.  So this cheap item would get to be a very expensive one to use...too expensive for me.

I live in an apartment complex that allows each apartment to have up to 2 dogs, so there can be a lot of barking going on sometimes.  I have a black lab who grew up in the country and now that we live in an apartment she thinks that any person or especially dog that walks by within her sight is invading her territory and will bark uncontrollably at them until they are out of site.  Often times, it seems like my dog and the neighbors' dogs have barking contests.  This product claimed it could stop barking up to 20 feet away so I put it on my balcany which would cover most of my neighbors with dogs. The dogs still bark the same as they always do.  My dog will still bark uncontrollably when the Bark-Off is right next to her head.  I can't hear the sound it supposingly makes, so I have no way of telling if this item is defective or just not effective. I would not recommend this.  I was deeply disappointed with this product.

I have two standard poodles which do not bark except for when someone comes to the door, however we rescued a cockapoo and he barks at ever sound.  We live in a duplex so not a lot of room for the device to cover, but does not work no matter what.  Thought it could be batteries and that did not work, then used adapter and still barking continues. Do not waste your money!
