Very poor quality control. Glasses arrived with one lens chipped at the bottom. Simple inspection would have revealed it. Customer service is useless. But, hey, they "understand my frustration"... International delivery is $30 every direction, so you end up with paying 3 times for shipping, almost $90. Will never make the mistake of buying there again

Today I received my first order from 39dollarglasses.com. The frames are great but the lenses are not properly cut to the shape of the frames and have obvious defects in workmanship. It looks like a child that doesn't know how to color in-between the lines manufactured them and dropped them on the floor during packaging. Terrible quality assurance process.

After getting a new eye prescription, I was looking for a place to buy some new glasses. I had heard of 39dollarglasses.com, and I was excited to see if I could find a good deal on frames on their site. But I found that their site was mislabeled and gave a false impression. Although they do have discounted glasses, and they do have a number of glass frames available for $39, they also have a good number that cost more than that. I was able to find a good pair for myself that was at a low price, but it still left a bad taste in my mouth that they would advertise one thing that doesn't match reality. Ease of Use The navigation tools on this site are very easy to use. Not only can you search by men's, women's, kids, etc, but you can also search by shape of glasses (round, aviator, rectangle, etc). They also include pictures of the general shape by each category so you can know for sure how they are classifying them. Product Pricing The prices are pretty good, especially compared to what the frames would cost at another store. However, as mentioned above, they were not as good as advertised. Shipping and Returns They offer free returns, and shipping rates are pretty reasonable (discounted when spending over $99).

A few months ago I had a really bad eye infection that lasted for weeks, leaving me unable to wear my contacts. It was early summer - so, very sunny - so it was difficult have to wear my glasses all the time and not be able to really wear sunglasses that I'm so used to wearing. So, I thought, since I was really not able to wear my contacts, I would get a pair of prescription sunglasses so I could at least enjoy the sunny days while still giving my eyes relief from my contacts. I researched all of the online glasses companies and settled on 39dollarglasses.com, basically because of the price. Well, I ordered a pair online, and it was pretty simple, and then I waited. Shortly after I ordered my sunglasses, I had a follow-up with my eye doctor, at which appointment I discovered my prescription changed. So, I contacted 39dollarglasses.com and asked to cancel my current order because I was in the middle of an eye infection, my prescription had just changed and there was just a lot happening with my eyes - so maybe it wasn't the best time to buy a pair. The customer service rep said that they would be happy to cancel my order, refund my money and I should see it back to my credit card within 2-3 business days. Well, seven days later I still did not see the refund posted to my credit card, so I called back again, and was told that my order was put on "hold" and was never really canceled, even though I was very clearly told that it was. During this second call the customer service rep did indeed cancel my order and I was refunded within the next few days, and that was the end of it. But, based on that experience, I probably will not order from them again.

They do a great job of making you think that you are getting a great deal. You can't go wrong for $39, right? Oh yes you absolutely can. I could make a giant list of all the things that a simple $39 could buy me. They are making a huge profit from the glasses because they put about $3 worth of materials into building them. They let you add on special features which can bring the price to more than what you would pay at an in-person retailer. Sometimes what you order will look different once you receive your glasses. If I'm picking out a design, that's what I am expecting. Their selection of frames is just "meh." It's nothing special or spectacular. If you are looking for a specific frame that fits your face, you won't find it here. Some designs will not fit certain prescriptions and you'll have to pay more to have it thinned so that it does. They do everything they can to upsell. It's almost a bait and switch scheme. I do not recommend them.

We got a pair of glasses from $39 Glasses website recently for my boyfriend as a result of a free pair of glasses deal for new customers (we just had to cover the shipping). The shopping process was easy enough, we just had to input the info from his most recent prescription and soon the glasses were on the way! They arrived pretty quickly and they came with a nice a carrying case as well as a spray bottle of cleaner and nifty glasses wipe. As for the quality of the glasses, it's fine (considering the crazy pair of clear of plastic frames that my boyfriend chose!), but the selection was certainly decent and the price was great, even without the special deal that we used for my boyfriend's pair. My best friend also bought glasses from them over a year ago and his pair has held up pretty well, I just recently had to replace the nose piece on them for him, so that's not too bad considering the price. I'm sure there's better choices out there, but for the price $39 glasses shouldn't be overlooked as a low price option if you're on a budget!

Yet, in this spectrum of inexpensively priced eyeglasses online, 39DollarGlasses.com is on the higher end of pricing, for a selection that is not that special or different from styles available at lesser price points on other websites, and also not that daring or hip. I did purchase my favorite pair of special occasion eyeglasses from 39DollarGlasses.com, and I used a coupon code which lessened my out-of-pocket costs even further. The eyeglasses arrived in a hard, brushed, and very attractive case, and with an eyeglasses screwdriver that I did not expect, as well as a cleaning cloth, and ruler for measuring my own pupillary eye distance for my next order. Overall, I wouldn't order from 39DollarGlasses.com again, but not because I was disappointed with my purchase, but because I think that I have already purchased and own the most unique pair of eyeglasses on the website available for sale.

Below is what I wrote last year about the website "39 dollar glasses."  I have since changed my opinion on the company based on very important consumer information and I want my readers to know.  Here's the deal:  39 Dollar Glasses has a terrible return policy.  In fact, they don't really have a return policy.  I ordered a pair of regular glasses.  They were great.  My husband ordered two pairs of glasses - on regular and one pair of sunglasses. Those were great.  So, I decided to order one more pair.  Now, at this point, I consider myself a loyal customer.  Well, the last pair of glasses I received were so warped because of my very strong prescription.  No one there told me that the frames I chose would not work with my prescription.  I AM NOT AN EYE DOCTOR, so how would I know that certain frames don't work with certain prescriptions. Well, they arrived and I couldn't see anything out of them.  I contacted the company to see how I should proceed with my return.  You can imagine my surprise when they informed me that they don't really have a return policy except that you can return the glasses and have their techs decide if the glasses were made correctly.  If the pair was made correctly in their opinion, then your only recourse is to order a new pair for 20% discount.  No refund.  No nothing.  Just a 20% discount.  Well, that really irked me, especially since the techs decided that my glasses were fine.  Forget the fact that I couldn't see out of them at all and they were warped. I wanted this site to work so badly. Glasses are SO expensive, but as I have found out, you get what you pay for.  The process is very easy and I received my glasses quickly.  The first problem I found is that the glasses can appear slightly different than on the website and if you do not like the look once you receive them, you can return them but you only get a 60% credit, the rest is a "restocking fee". I did get a pair that I liked but afetr 2 months, the lenses began to spider crack around the edges. I sent them back and to their credit, they inspected them and returned the pair with a new set of lenses. Alas, now the second pair is begining to crack the exact same way. I am very gentle with these glasses and since it is cracking the exact same way, I will have to say it is a question of quality. So, while it was a good idea and the customer service and website is good, the bottom line is the product is just as described; a 39 dollar pair of glasses. If that doesnt phase you than use the site but I need my glasses to last more than two months, no matter how much I pay for them.
