Wii Music game was not as expected

This game was not what I expected.  I waited and was so excited to get this game.  When I finally got it it was terrible.  I was only able to play 2-3 of the songs and only what they wanted me to play.  I was not able to make up my own music as I had thought.  It is good to teach tempo and beat.  But what is there after that?
