It's a miracle we all aren't obese.....me and my coworkers that is. I work in an office where we love to eat, and eat, and eat. We celebrate everyone who has a birthday each month with cake, we have a bi-yearly ice cream social that last for three days, we have a ton of pot luck luncheons and we have a weekly breakfast club. And don't forget everyone that brings in donuts, left over birthday cake, dozens and dozens of homemade cookies during the holidays and candy bar fund-raisers for their kids. Are you getting the idea of why we would all be huge yet? Well, our employer sure did. About 6 months ago they started offering a program with Weight Watchers where the employee only has to pay half of the fees and our employer pays the rest. Everyone jumped aboard but me. I needed to lose about 20 pounds but going to a meeting every Thursday and talking about me needing to lose weight wasn't my thing. So I didn't join and watched all of my coworkers get thinner and healthier and I stayed the same. I decided to go to WeightWatchers.com and check it out after all. They were offering a three month free trial for their on-line program so I signed up to see how it would go. I lost five pounds in the first week. The program was so simple that I've had no trouble following it. I can eat whatever I want as long as I stay under my 19 points per day plus I have an extra 35 points per week in case we go out to dinner or a special event. I can keep track of everything with the on-line daily counter that automatically calculates my points for me. I've been with Weight Watchers since January 2008 and I am finally 17 pounds lighter. Because I think about the calories and fat content in the food I eat my family has benefited also. I find that I shop and cook healthier. My daughter has also lost some weight which is wonderful since she was on the high side of the scale for her age. I can see where Weight Watchers isn't just a diet. It truly is a way of life.
