I have used the Weight Watchers program before and was really excited to start the program. I received a lot of extra stuff from when my mom joined and then her group stopped because there was not enough interest. I decided to try it on my own since I could not afford to pay the meeting expenses. I did stick to it for a while but then every once and a while I would forget to check a points or forget to write something down. I think it would have been beneficial if there was a group I could go to every week. I think the group creates, not only support, but a kind of embarrassment to perform and gives that extra motivation because otherwise everyone will know that you didn't try your best that week. That peer pressure is a real motivator.
The points system itself isn't so bad and it did actually work but without motivation the whole system falls apart. Ans I like the fact that after I lost the weight I could switch to the healthy life style and maintain that good weight and keep eating healthy. However, not only with the food changes, exercise I think should be emphasized more in the Weight Watchers program.
