This program has been around for a while.  That is because it works!  I have tried to lose weight numerous times, and this is the only thing that works for me.  Weight Watchers allows you to eat real foods of your choice.  Not pre-packaged stuff.  You can eat whatever you want!  It's all a matter of choices. 

Based on your weight, you have a certain number of points that you can have each day.  (Or you can choose another method where you each as much as you want of certain foods.)  Each food is given a point value.  You can eat whatever you want, as long as your points for the day add up to less than or equal to your max points.  It's all about choice.  You can have that piece of cake if you want.  But be prepared to sacrifice in other areas.  It really causes you to stop and think about what you are putting in your mouth.  Writing down everything you eat helps as well.  If you're like me, you can grab a quick snack out of the pantry, and do that over and over again without thinking about it.  But, if you commit to writing down everything you eat, you see how those "harmless" snacks add up and you choose not to do it.  I did Weight Watchers a few years ago and lost 10 pounds.  (I had to stop because I got pregnant with child #3.)  I am now on it again and have lost 7 pounds.  As long as I stay within my points each day, I lose weight.  It's that simple.

I prefer this program over others because it uses real, every day foods, not pre-packaged stuff.  I've always wondered how people who use the pre-packed stuff do when they go back to having to make their own food choices again.  Weight Watchers teaches you discipline, self-control and proper portions.  If you really commit yourself to it, it can work.  And not just for a "dieting" period.  It can change the way you look at food for the rest of your life.  So you aren't going up and down with your weight.  It actually changes how and what you eat.  I wouldn't use anything else!
