I'm not sure I can type a good enough review for this company. USAA is hands down the absolute best company I have ever dealt with. The ONLY down side is that you have to be a member of the military (or family member). However, once you're a member, I believe you can continue to pass on the membership to your kids, grandkids, etc. (Recently, I think they've started going more public, but I'm not positive.) I started out with just a credit card (as a teenager--they have great products like that which help kids learn finances well). Now I still have a credit card, a checking account, savings account, numerous CD's, car insurance, and homeowner's insurance. We're getting ready to open child's savings account for our new daughter. I still "shop around" for the best rates, but unless it's a huge difference, I will pay a bit more just to keep USAA. Being so strict with the budget and frugal, that says a lot! Their customer service is absolutely WONDERFUL! Whenever I call, I ALWAYS get an actual, english-speaking American who is very knowlegable and pleasant and polite... and I don't know that I've ever had to wait more than about five minutes. Usually I can be done with the call within about five minutes! Other awesome benefits... free ATM's, deposit checks at home (using a scanner through their website), great financial advice for anything you need. I can't recommend this company enough.
