The Bottom Line: Trivago.com is a well organized user friendly hotel research website that allows you to pull the best prices from dozens of websites at once and does have some great search features but unfortunately you cannot book a hotel room directly from Trivago. That would have made Trivago the perfect hotel booking website for me. Otherwise a great resource for lodging research.

Ease of Use
I am a big fan of the layout of this webpage. It is clean and to the point. The graphics are great and make this website very user friendly.

Features
As far as researching and comparing prices for hotels this is probably my favorite website. I love that you have so many different filters which allow you to really narrow down the type of lodging you are looking for. I also love that you can see the hotels on a map when location matters most. I also love that you can see comparisons of prices for one hotel on the same page (by clicking on a "View all deals" for a specific hotel, the different prices show up in a pulled down window, instead of having a million different windows pop up on your screen)

Customer Service
After booking a hotel room in Dublin, I needed to contact their customer service to ask some specific questions and even though they were not able to help me regarding my booking (you will need to contact the hotel directly since Trivago is not responsible for bookings), they responded to my request within an hour and were very courteous.

Trivago is an awesomely easy travel site if or when you don't want to waste a lot of time browsing. This site gets right to the point. All you have to do is enter a city name and all the information you could possibly need is readily available. You will get search results for almost every travel site available. You can modify and narrow your search results by all sorts of things - like whether or not the hotel offers WiFi or other specific amenities that you may prefer. You can also request listings from a particular amount of stars per hotel. What I don't like about this site is that they offer no inspiration. They don't have a listing of activities, landmarks, local deals or anything else. It is strictly good for quickly comparing hotel prices only. Once they deliver the list based on your modified preferences, you click see deal button and it will show you the prices for all the other affiliate sites as well. then it will re-route you to the website that you choose from that list. I think more than anything Travago.com is just like a middle man. It definitely provides a perk by not having to travel from site to site in order to compare prices but to be truthfully, brutally honest, it really doesn't offer anything else in my opinion.

Great for savvy travelers

Comments about Trivago.com:

Trivago gives you an amazing resource pulling rates from more sites than you could ever reasonably expected to know of. I am surprised each time by the extent of their resources. The traveler with limited experience will possibly feel overwhelmed.

Ease of Use
For my personal experience, it is a little difficult to use from a tablet. The city seems to always want to revert to the default. It also isn't a site from someone who is looking for some very particular hotel features, as the filter options are a bit limited would also say that this site lends itself more toward experienced travelers who are either familiar with what they are specifically looking for and are less likely to get overwhelmed by all the options.

Features
More than adequate for most but less than the filter options I am looking for. I like to save time by eliminating the properties I am not interested in from the first screen.

Customer Service
I have no experience using their customer service.

Hotel comparison at its best.

By

Comments about Trivago.com:

I use this site to compare hotel prices and nothing more. It allows you to do a comprehensive review of all major travel sites, and pool the rates that all travel sites are charging for a particular hotel. Not only do you find the best rates, you can compare hotels, the amenities, and you can choose to book with the online site or hotel chain offering the best rates.

Ease of Use
The site is self explanatory. Simply enter your destination (city/state), the hotel chain, or you can search by hotel star ratings. From there, the site compiles a list of major online companies, allowing you to compare the rates charged by different companies, for the same room.

Features
There aren't many. You can search by state/city, you can search for hotels by name, or by star rating and reviews. You can also book your hotel directly and do receive points, for future discounts on hotels if you do travel often.

Customer Service
Online chat support is a nice feature. You can speak to a representative directly if you need help in booking or finding a particular hotel. Otherwise, they are similar to most other travel sites in terms of email support.
