My son had it the week before last. He was pretty sick for one day and then draggy for two days. His fever broke the third day, and he returned to college 24 plus hrs later as advised. He was not near as sick as he was when he had seasonal flu a couple of yrs back.

Also - my younger son and I just washed our hands a lot and also the sick son drank only from throw away containters (plastic bottles, cans). We didn't get it.

she said he had gotten a fever as high as 104.5 at one point.he's been throwing up and stuff. the doctor told her it wasn't as bad as the media was making it out to be. hopefully he gets better soon.

I'm not worried about H1N1 (Swine Flu) yet.  From what I've read, it is really just like a regular flu.  In fact, I'd much rather get it NOW and build up some kind of immunity to it now than get it 6 months or a year from now when it has mutated into a more virulent (dangerous) strain.

My son hit around 103. It was just that one day though. Then, it ran around 100. He did not get vomiting or diarrhea though. Many don't with the swine flu. In fact, he wanted a McDonalds burger for lunch the day I picked him up and then grilled hot dogs for supper.

Hope the little guy is OK.

My husband got sick two weeks ago and I caught what he had a week ago. He's still not over it and I'm FAR from over it. He just found out today that a worker had H1N1 and didn't tell anyone because he thought he'd get fired! What the....

The guy is OK now. He was out of work for a week but is back. I have no idea if we have it or we're just sick from a seasonal bug but we both decided it wasn't worth going to the doctor since ours is an antibiotic pusher and we don't want them. They don't work and can't help. Unless we get notably worse, we'll just stay away from as many people as possible, wash our hands a lot, and do the best we can. My husband is working though. There were seven guys sick before him and after the H1N1 guy was out sick.

None have gone to the doctor although they are or were missing work and feeling like CRUD.

Whatever this is, is really draining and you think you're OK one day and you're so not. We'll see what happens. I'm not really worried about the swine flu. It's a flu. I get everything. I'll know if I need medical attention and right now, I don't feel I do. Theraflu maybe...;) It's more than likely just a seasonal flu type of thing, not the real flu or H1N1. Our son feels fine and he has been around us since the start.

hugZ to your nephew hun ~ I don't know of anyone personally.  My husband got the regular flu shot today at Walgreen's and I'm going Monday.  We're not sure if we'll get the swine flu shot, which should be available, I think they said Mid-October.

From what I've read & heard - it is no more dangerous than other types of flu viruses.  In fact, more people are dying from other flu viruses than H1N1.  Furthermore...the vaccine could be more dangerous than the flu itself.  Copy & paste this link to read more...

I haven't had a flu shot in years because I am allergic to eggs, and I haven't had the flu. Let's hope that my luck holds up this year!

Nope, I don't know anyone who has had the Swine Flu and I hope I never do! My son was sick already with cold symptoms the first week of school though. Ugh!
