Does your spouse/significant other know you review products here, do they read them?  My husband teases me when I get a new product about how I will review it. He does not read here and I don't want him reading my reviews. Not sure why.

My husband knows I review here, or at least he should know bc I tell him all the time!  He doesn't read but he doesn't need to bc I kind of tell him my review anyway :)  I talk it out with him usually while we are at the restaurant, or after the movie is over, etc, so he already knows exactly what I think!  I wouldn't care if he read them, but then I might have to get involved with one of his hobbies to be fair and noone wants that :)

My husband knows I write and he laughs at me and says I am obsessive. He says I wake him up in the middle of the night.  That is when I do most of my writing.   He has not read any of my reviews, because, same as Vivasuzi, I also tell him my reviews.

My husband knows about it, but he never really goes on here. He's a moderator at another site, so he mainly spends his time over there.

I guess I don't even need to answer this question! :~)  since my hubby got me started on this site.

on a more serious note, he had been trying to get me to write on the same sites as he did for some time, but for some reason I had to strike out on my own and develop my own readers and "name" before I was willing to join him anywhere.  But VP's makes it so warm and welcoming (and easy!) how could I not?

My wife is aware of my activities here and she gives me mixed signals. Sometimes she will suggest that I take pictures of something so that I can review it, other times she rolls her eyes and complains that I spend too much time on review sites. Since I also write professionally, she occasionally complains that I should be writing more magazine articles instead of "wasting time" writing reviews.

She's right but it's not about what I should be doing. It's about what I want to do and she hasn't figured that out after several years.

Lisa, you picked a good site to join for sure!

Bob, my husband does that same thing.  Tells me to take a picture than laughs at me about it :-D  However my husband can never comment on me wasting time on reviews since he spends the same amount of time (if not more) playing an online game.  I always say, my hobby earns me money, his costs money, so he has no argument there!

I really do love this site! I think the reason i don't want my husband here is because i want my own "place". He has his fantasy sports and I have this. He thinks it is "cute" that I get excited about writing reviews so he doesn't take it too seriously. But he doesn't give me a hard time about it.

My husband (hannasdad) not only knows but last summer wrote a few reviews. I try to get him to write more but he's really busy. Anyway there was once upon a time a site that upset me so much he said he would throw my computer away if I wrote there. In any case after awhile I did but in hiding. Not Viewpoints! I'm proud to write here. I wonder if you don't want hubby reading them because there might be something personal in them even if it's not intimate:) your writing is a personal thing.

After spending 2 years on review sites... he actually tells me to review certain things now (see my review of his underwear).  But we'll buy something and he'll hand me the package telling me I can review it.  He knows the more I get my name out, the more I can get paid for my writing.

She knows I write here, but she hasn't read one of them in a long, long time (at least as far as I  know).  I would love her to take a look, but she is more into games than anything else when she is online.

My husband knows that I write reviews on a couple of sites.  As much as he rolls his eyes when I'm in the middle of writing something, he often encourages me to write more.  He is hoping that I can make up the increase in airfare to Cozumel next spring so we can still have a proper vacation.

My husband knows I write reviews here and that I write elsewhere as well. He isn't interested in any of my reviews though. The only thing he has an interest in is my writing for the UK wrestling magazine I do because he has sold pictures to them and is somewhat a part of it with me (like he was with the other sports entertainment magazines I headed).

I wish he would read my stuff but he never has. Then again, I suppose reading reviews of stuff he sees all over the house would be maddening. When I was writing an anti aging column weekly, he had no interest in that either and I understand that too.

He actually wishes I would cut down and NOT write as many reviews because he feels I am overworking and should cut down on what I do. But I enjoy review writing and it isn't what is stressing me out. It's my lack of organization and my ADD mannerisms that cause me to seem to be working constantly. I am working on all that.

My hubby has glanced at this page if I leave it open (I think he's just looking to make sure its not a dating website or something LOL). But he hasn't read any of my reviews. Then again. he's pretty predicatble when it comes to the internet: work website, mafiadeath.com, youtube, yahoo, and repeat. I made/manage/bust my butt on a website for my Grandma that passed away in March and he hasn't even looked that but once. :)

I don't currently have a significant other, either.  One of my exes (who is still a friend) knows I write here because I send her links to my stuff all the time.

I'm a writer, and whenever I meet someone new that's what I tell them I do, so I suppose that if I ever do have a "significant other" she'll know I write reviews here.

I don't say much about my writing. I did one story early on when I was trying to get started. It got published in a nice slick mag. I was thrilled. I showed my family. My Poppaw said, "Do they really pay you to write this crap?" He used another word for the c word. I got over needing validation. I also burned all my old writing "crap." Stories. Poems. Journals. Even photos. I did start writing again after a while, but I don't say much (if anything) about my writing now.

Are you kidding?! Your writing is so great. I am still crying about your review of the ass blaster. One of my all time favorites. Should be in the review hall of fame! Now that is "crap" you should get paid for... no pun intended.

Actually my girlfriend doesn't know.

I suppose it's because I haven't done a lot here yet and though I intend to, it doesn't apply to her, haha.

I should probably tell her about the place, I think she'd like it. =]

My husband doesn't know. He is busy doing his thing and thinks I am silly with my interest in different fun sites, that's okay. I won't tell you what I think about "his stuff"!!! I enjoy everyones ideas and opinions. The internet is grand.

amen, SherryCG! my husband thinks the whole thing stems from my need to be appreciated and to fellowship with other people. he sort of sees it as me being kinda cute, and getting way into something that has no real import. but i think being part of a community, and contributing to that community, is very important. but then, he works outside the home and gets his fix of community and his feeling of accomplishment from that.

CloudNine, that is often the situation with spouses who work outside the home while the other stays at home. I work from home or an office I rent. My work is writing. I don't see many people and I don't get a chance to be social at all these days. I spend many days at home writing late into the night. Meanwhile, my husband is at work around tons of people everyday so he is happy to come home and be left alone while I am just looking for some kind of interaction with humans!

My husband does know how important what I do is because he sees my checks from some of the places I write. He knows I am making good money but he doesn't realize i am doing all that alone without going to lunch with coworkers or having a friendly chat between assignments.

To me, community is really important because the net is where I work and the communities where I work are the people I work with. They're just inside the computer instead of right next to me. Many spouses fail to see that and think we are wasting time on the net. I call it keeping my sanity!

My other ex, the one I had the longest relationship with, passed away a few years ago (we had broken up two years prior to that but were still on friendly terms) knew I reviewed at Amazon and Epinions.  We were still dating when I joined both sites and she did some reviewing herself, so she probably would have known I write here if she were still alive.

Yea he know's I use this but he thinks it's a waste of my time. Also thinks I should own a product at least a month before I really write a review on it. Of course it's gonna work the first day I own it! You don't start to realize bad things about something until much later. He doesn't hate me using this, he's fine with it.
