I keep seeing the advertisement where it says that you can write on Viewpoints and earn MyPoints. The few recent reviews I have written says I qualified for MyPoints but I don't understand how it actually works. I remember joining this site through MyPoints and never received anything for writing. Is there something else I need to do to qualify? Just curious.

You shouldn't need to... It's just like any other offer that goes through MyPoints.  You should see points show up in around 30 days.  I've not gotten mypoints  for writing, but from what I've read that's how it works.  Make sure to check in with Meredith if you don't see them afer that amount of time.

Don't think I even know what MyPoints is.  But then, not an unusual condition.

I belong to myPoints but know nothing of any promotion. No one ever told me I could get points for writing. That would rock since I write anyway. I think we need someone in the know to explain more. :)

I found out about Viewpoints through MyPoints - it would be good to get the facts.  I like to write anyway - so no problem if I don't get points there.  We shop through MyPoints whenever we can.  That would be a kind of "double bonus" to get points though and yes, it would rock ;)

There is a banner on top of the VP page that says "Welcome MyPoints Members! Write reviews and earn up to 250 points."

My wife joined VP before I did through MyPoints and received her first 50 points for writing a review but I don't think she received anything else after that. I think there is a 5 review limit (hence the 250 points).

If the promotion still exists, I would love to know how to earn some extra points. :)

I have alerted Meredith to this discussion in case she hasn't seen it hoping she can provide some clarification.

Elvisdo is correct it is only the first 5 reviews that you get 50 points each for.  If you question whether you recieve your points, you can both check your MP  points statement for it or e-mail Meredith to verify.

I believe it depends on how you came to sign up with Viewpoints whether you see the banner that he describes.  I have not seen the banner since I signed up with VP quite sometime before the MyPoints offer coming about.

I don't see a banner. I didn't sign up here through MyPoints. I got my account at MP by default when BzzAgent converted and gave us a  bunch of points and now I just read the emails and stuff. I have 7000 points accrued.

But I doubt anyone who didn't sign up with VP through a MyPoints offer will be entitled to the points. I looked all over the MP website and saw nothing at all about Viewpoints.

True ~ I didn't see any Viewpoints info when I logged in to MyPoints earlier either.  Patty ~ you're a shopper.  Here's a gentle suggestion that you (and anyone else) sign up over at MyPoints and check out the retailers you can shop through for points.

MyPoints pays quickly too...another bonus ;)  I've been a member there since 2001.

If you go to Mypoints and on the "easy points" I belive VP is listed there.  They have it in there for new members...If you write reviews (I believe five reviews limit for the promotion) you can earn up to 250 MyPoints.

I am a member of Mypoints through BzzAgent.com and I have been earning points for writing reports through them (BzzAgent).

It's a nice promotion...it's been there for awhile.

The current promotion on the MP website currently states:

Earn 50 Points (once) to sign up and write your first review at Viewpoints. Earn 50 Points for each additional review up to a total of 500 Points.

Bzz agent has similar promotions and I believe there's one other place too but I can't remember where the e-mail was from (I"m thinking it was SendEarnings)

Hi everyone,

You are only eligible for earning Mypoints if you signed up for Viewpoints as an affiliate of a Mypoints program we are running with them.

Lilsquibb is correct above. Also, you only see a Mypoints banner if you are a Viewpoints member who joined via Mypoints. Affiliation with these programs is all tracked on the back end.

We send qualified recipient data to Mypoints each month so they know who to credit and how much. Then Mypoints is responsible for actually crediting points to user accounts on their side. If you believe you have earned points but they have not been credited to your account please contact Mypoints customer service who should be able to help with resolution.

Also, please keep in mind that it can take up to 30 days after program conclusion for points for points to be sent to your Mypoints account. It takes this time because we must verify all reviews met program qualifiers and send the data to Mypoints.

Any further questions, please email me directly at meredith@viewpoints.com.

Thanks!

Meredith

I'm glad I ran into this discussion I have been wondering about this also. I just joined Viewpoints though so I figured it was a little too early to worry about if I got my points or not.
