I've been married for 16 years now, but I'm sure somebody can beat that.

27 years, have been with the same person since 1976. Long time, but then again it doesn't feel that long. Time flies fast anymore. I can't believe it's been that many years. The good, the bad and the ugly....Hey sounds like a movie!

25.5 years. Been together since I was a teen!

I just asked him to get me a Subway sub and he wasn't really excited about the idea. This could mean divorce! lol.

In December, I will be married for 29 years. My wife and I were together for 5.5 years before that, having met in the spring of 1974.

Well, I can't beat your parents, but Tom & I are midway through year 31.  He can be ornery, but he's a great cook!!

My husband and I have been married for 13 years. We were dating for 10 years before that though! WOW! Time flies doesn't it? This last anniversary we both forgot until my sister asked me about it. We missed it completely!

22 years here. Feels like forever ago, yet just yesterday. Time is an odd thing.

My parents were married for 50 years until my mother passed away. 50 freaking years! I'm halfway there. Yikes.

PattyTherre, you were just a teen....Me, I was still in my crib.....lol...Mine is starting to turn into his Dad.....YIKES....That one I don't know if I will be able to handle, his Mom couldn't......He's sort of well hard to explain and would take to long, beside Mr. Clean...When a new telephone book comes, it goes right in the garbage....no room for it, he calls it clutter....So when ever we go to visit him I will find aleast one dust bunny, and he is like oh GEEZZZZZZZZZ!!!! Spends a whole week cleaning, but I always find something to bust him on..ha ha ha.

Count me OUT!  It took 44 years to get me to the alter...and only 3 - 1/2 to get to divorce court.  I married a wacko.  Once was enough for me.

We have been married over 38 years now... [I got married when I was 12! LOL]

Two more years and it will be our "ruby" anniversary.  I have seen people divorce and then five years later say, "we could have worked things out."  My advice to all is to not give up so easily. [unless you marry a "Whacko" as Old Hippie says]

Meri,

I agree with you, marriage does take work. It shouldn't be hard work. You work through the difficult times. You make a commitment to each other. Now a days it seems like people just don't take it as serious and look for an easy way out. Granted some do need to get out. My father-in-law has always wanted my mother-in-law back. So if they would of taken the time to work on it, who knows. They could of stayed married all these years, but instead were good friends and we all enjoyed Holidays together. The grass isn't always "Greener on the other side".

"I Married a Wacko!"  -- what a great title for a t.v. sitcom!

I just celebrated my 5th wedding anniversary only a few weeks ago. My parents will be celebrating their 36th anniversary in a couple of weeks. I still have a long way to catch up.

Should I add both marriages?  Or should I just stick with the one that's still working?

One of my piano students (she's taken lessons fo 26 years) has been married 60 years.  She and her husband had a blast of an anniversary party earlier this year.  The food was delish, the place a big deal, the band fine... and my 88-year-old gal planned the whole thing herself.

I should be so capable.  Some people are just plain amazing.

25 years and although I've posted it everywhere I'll post it again. We got married by a Justice of the Peace. We are getting married in our religious in November. All the kids will be here for Thanksgiving. We'll have a reception afterward:) This is marriage number 2 for both of us so we blended a family which never did blend. They said (we said) it would never last!

I just celebrated my 10 year anniversary last weekend. (and we dated for 5 years before that!) Feeling pretty lucky..... And, by the way, who comes up with the crazy anniversary gifts? 10 years was TIN? Popcorn is what that spells to me... or Godiva chocolates!
