Just curious. Are there products or services that you've looked for and not found here - yet.
I'll bet we have members who could cover most anything.
I'd like to see more lawnmowers - the good and the bad. I already bought the bad. Hoping to buy the good this next go round.
Also need to check on toolboxes to go in truck beds. For my son. Wondering if they're all pretty much the same as long as they fit. Will take a tape measure and check that.

Webcams and pc microphones please?! I get one webcam and the rest are websites. Mics, zilcho. A guide would be nice on these too! As big as online chat video/audio exchange avenues are these days (Skype, MSN Messenger, Yahoo, YouTube, NetMeeting) etc... I know I for one participate in pc conferences with clients and family here and abroad, and this would be a nice category to broaden.
Newegg and Cnet are running the gamut on these, but the reviews are mostly from "panels" of professionals that are given the product. No help to me.
Long story short, pc accessories and communication devices.
Great topic BTW ;)

What I don't want to see are firearms reviewed but that is just me. When the thing says review ANYTHING, I think of porn movies, guns, and illegal drugs. Not that I have experience in those areas (really) but that word ANYTHING scares me a little. I would however, read and rate as appropriate if a gun or porn movie review were written. I would not read nor rate illegal street drugs or drugs prescribed but used in ways NOT prescribed. So far so good on that end though. Everyone is so cool here!
I think we have most everything covered. I can't think of something I would want to read a review on that we don't at least have an area for. I would love to see MORE areas for things though. Like in Beauty, there are many products that don't fit any category and where do energy bars go? Food and Drink? Vitamins? I also feel weird writing exercise workout reviews under movies. Maybe I should put them under sports but there isn't a place. Just pondering...

Oh - I was really thinking of things up already but with scant reviews like the lawnmowers. Most everyone has one. Well, if they have a yard. I'd love to know which ones are working out well, because I had a perfectly awful Yard Machine that got my goat about as bad as Dreamweaver is this week.
I'd be fine with gun reviews. That's my Southern coming out.
Porn movie reviews? Different strokes (pun intended). I don't have any to write about and woudn't be likely to read any reviews. I must confess that I saw one in high school. Got there a little late. After about 10 minutes, I whispered to my friend, "Don't they have any dialogue in these." I guess my whisper was louder than I thought, because everyone in the theatre started laughing real loud. I decided I better just stick with regular movies after that.

Uh Oh...Redneck chiming in....lol I have guns but never reviewed any of them because of the controversy over gun ownership. They do have a place in "Sports" because many target practice or hunt. According to the "stats" (which don't go back very far though) my sports reviews were not very well received but it could have been due to timing of when they posted too. So with the obvious controversy on guns and with the stats being low on reads for me in sports I doubt if I review any guns.
Porn movies are all the same.....and I see no use in reviewing them especially since there is no restriction on the age of the reader! So that right there tells me it would not be a good thing to review! Just my 2 cents on Porn!

And how they start, and everything that happens in the middle! lol.
I read a review elsewhere of a book on giving women pleasure orally. It was a cringeworthy review but it was in the database and wasn't porn but a learning book. I rated as I saw fit with a comment saying if the guy had to read a book, I felt sorry for his wife. HAHAHA. Not really. And I am bringing this thread into the gutter. Typical me. *sigh*

There are so many "As seen on TV" products out there and many are just scams, but there are some good ones. I would love to see one on the "Shamwow". I love that ad on TV, but is it really as good as they say. It reminded me of going to the county fair and all the displays they had and the people showing them. I signed up to be a tester for "As seen on TV", but nothing to test yet.
There are so many scams out there, we have the power to let people know the truth and that is a good thing.
I see that "As seen on TV" on TV and I am on here looking to see if it has been reviewed....So hope that the Shamwow is a good thing...itchy ordering fingers here along with many that want to buy, buy, buy as soon as we see it on TV or the internet.
Oh, thought of another thing. Solar showers for camping and enclosures. The family has a great camping site, but the showers are a 20 min drive. (I get lost easy :)
A VP's wish list of items to be reviewed...I like that!

Well now I'm tempted.....
There have been attempts at making more artistic porn and there are also sexploitation and erotica films that are quite different from porn. I could see these things being reviewed and probably received fairly well.
The trick would be to do it in a tasteful manner and to stay away from being too explicit. The run of the mill porn stuff.... if you need them reviewed for you, there are websites ... I think and adult magazines that do this type of thing... perhaps review the website and adult magazines and forget about Porn around these parts.

ChrisJ - I wonder if you've seen an English movie called "Intimacy"? It was really controversial when it was made, because of the graphic (and evidently real) sex, but it's a great and very serious film. Not porn, at all - at least not in the traditional sense. I'd consider reviewing a movie like that for Viewpoints...but something like Debbie Does Dallas? I reckon it's best that sort of entertainment be reviewed at dedicated sites.

I almost reviewed Nude World Order which, at the time, was a take off of the New World Order faction in wrestling. Since I worked in pro wrestling, I HAD to see the Ron Jeremy starring movie. It was SO dumb and so off the mark about wrestling lingo and everything else that I so wanted to review it. But I never did and never will. I don't even honestly remember the sexual stuff. I was focused on how the industry saw wrestling and it saw it really wrong. Then again, I probably see the porn industry really wrong never having been backstage!!!
I don't think there would be any issues reviewing a movie like "Intimacy" considering the back story. Heck, now I want to know about it! I really think that people can review anything if they use tact and remember that this site is open to all - including young people. If I wouldn't want my son to read a review I wrote, I won't write it. Having said that, I just wrote my top five hot movies so I should shaddup now. But nothing was explicit.

One thing's for sure....Viewpoints will definitely not be getting any gun or illegal drug review from me.
As for "adult material," I seriously doubt I'll try reviewing anything too explicit. Not because I'm a prude or anything; I've written about sex-related stuff at another site, but I'd have a tough time with, say, a Jenna Jameson DVD because (a) I don't know who the co-stars are and (b) how does one write a porn movie review politely?

I read about Intimacy but haven't seen it. I've written extensively on sexploitation films from what was called the nudie cuties to the roughies and the pre-porn Grindhouse stuff. There was the early sexploitation films from the 20's through the 50s which were part of road-shows and had education elements (supposedly) to them. Famous ones like MOM and DAD and Films showing effects of VD aka STDs. There were films that pushed back against the strict censorship of the late 30s through the 1950s.
Once in a while there was some interesting things done, someitmes it was who was doing them... like Doris Wishman... who carved herself a long somewhat successful career in a field dominated by men from filmmakers to producers to distributes to theater owners...yet Doris made her films and made money for many years.
There's also films that challenge us... sometimes crossing over into very explicit sexual areas. Art? Sexploitation? Cult? It's an interesting subject to write about in a variety of ways because of what a unique society America has been as opposed to Europe and Scandinavian countries in this regard.
In terms of pure porn....I think there's a magazine that runs down the kind of sexual acts each film has and there are independent reviewers of the stuff that decides when the 'participants' are actually having fun and giving their all, and when the performers are going through the routines but are clearly bored. I'm sure soemone really into the genre would find such a thing a public service but I don't think these kind of reviews would fit into Viewpoints at all.

Telpher, I definitely will. My sons are 22 and 17 and never around. I'll have to see if I can rent it. My curiosity is peaked!
And Chris, I agree, pure porn has no place here. Unless someone like...The Rock does it, it's just faceless, nameless people doing the same thing with no plot at all so what could we say about the movies?
We could always review One Night in Paris and One Night in Chyna. ACK!

You guys crack me up. And, I am still laughing about Cyndi's comment above "different strokes". Too funny.
For whatever it is worth, while we saying ANYTHING, there are a few limitations that we have imposed. Here they are as noted in our terms of service:
The following is a partial list of the kind of User Content that is illegal and/or is prohibited on or through the Viewpoints Site. You may not post any content that:
- is patently offensive to users of the Viewpoints Site, such as content that promotes racism, bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind against any group or individual;
- harasses or advocates harassment of another person;
- promotes illegal activities or conduct that is abusive;
- is threatening, obscene, defamatory or libelous;
- is pornographic or sexually explicit in nature; or
- seeks, or recommends providers of, material that exploits people under the age of 18 in a sexual or violent manner, or seeks or recommends providers that solicit personal information from anyone under 18.

I loved Cyndi's comment, too.
Personally, I'm glad there is that non-porn clause in the TOS. I would have a conniption trying to figure out how to write a review in that genre anyway!

I'd like to read more fitness DVD reviews. I am the only one writing them it seems and I get burned often by "sounds good but stinks" workouts. Amazon has helped but I'd like to see more reviews here. I know not many people workout at home (or do they?) but my reviews are doing well as far as reads so I assume that others besides me would like the lowdown on the newest titles before sinking money into them.

Oh bummer. I'll have to take back all those porn movies I rented. Just kldding. I don't think they rent those around here. If so, they keep it under the table which is a definate "possible." In a town of 830, if you go asking where to get dirty movies, it would be all over town before sun down.
I generally write on food, and the nastiest thing I've had is that Quaker Oats Banana Bread flavor diet instant oatmeal. I can't imagine anyone would get off on that (pun again intended).

I've seen some reviews here on those garden things, and they were positive. I can't remember how they're listed though. You might put in search "As Seen on TV." That pulls up a lot of those.
