Well, autumn is a'coming in and that means it's time once again to take my favorite coat in to the dry cleaners.  More than 20 years ago, I found at the Burlington Coat Factory a dark bottle green colored London Fog raincoat.  It had a lovely muted plaid design in it but it was more than just a pretty thing -- not only was it comfortable but its zip-in lining made it something I could wear probably six months out of the year.  Now multiply that by 20 years, and you'll see how much use I have gotten out of this garment which was on sale at the time I bought it.

Not only that, but I can see myself wearing this a long time into the future, even though the finish on the buttons are beginning to wear a little thin and I have had to have some minor repairs mended and done to it.

I was wondering, do YOU guys have some really great item of apparel that you love and that you have worn a lot and would hate to throw or give away?

In this heat, anything 100% cotton.  We had a cold front move through last night and it got down to 68...all my windows are open right now - yay!

Speaking of coats Anna, I have a red 1950's wool coat with a satin lining I got at the flea market for $5.  I get to wear it maybe 2-3 times in our "winter".  I also have a purple wool one, that I bought from pyramidcollection in the middle of July.  The regular price was over $100 and I got it for $29 bucks.  It's about 12 years old now.  I wouldn't part with either one.

I would like to buy an organic cotton shirt, since we love our organic cotton sheets which are our fave :)

Pjs!   I cannot resist PJs and buy them all the time.  Then I hold onto them until they're faded, thin, and falling apart.  Love my PJs. :)

My winter jacket is actually rarely worn but I love it.  It's fake fur on the inside and sooooo soft!  I only wear this on the coldest of winter days because it is really thick, but if I have to shovel snow or be outside for awhile, it's the best!

Bugg my PJs are also falling apart!  I just noticed holes in some of the seams and just been too lazy to buy new ones.  They are soooo comfy :) but I gotta give in and buy a new pair :-D

Yes. London Fog. I have a swing coat in black. Very basic. I've had it about 10 yrs now. It never goes out of style (that I know of - lol) and is warm and just a nice piece. I got it on sale at the outlet mall. Wish all my purchases were so good.

I love these responses -- I swear, a king in his castle couldn't do much better than favorite jammies, tees, slacks, shoes, or coats (especially London Fog).

Have a great day, everyone, no matter what  you are wearing!

I have a blouse that must be going on 16 years old now... it wasn't expensive but it has really held up over the years... it always looks nice, doesn't wrinkle and is made of a cool fabric [meaning cool as in temperature]that I can't explain. I will cry the day I have to part with it.

I also LOVE my LL Bean Wicked Good Slippers!  oldies but goodies- they just keep getting better.

I have a great black blazer that I got at some department store.  It has a classic fit  and is really comfortable, so every time I wear it, I feel great!  It's a must-have basic for my wardrobe and I can pretty much do anything with it...wear it with jeans, add a scarf or pin, over a blouse, make it a "power suit"...so versatile!

Since I am a consignment store fanatic  to say the least I have so many clothes that I don't even know what I own. I bought a great suede jacket that I love and of course jeans - any jeans that fit!

I don't have any particular piece of clothing I favor but I lovvvvvve a great fitting pair of designer jeans. I actually wore a pair the other night and they were so perfect I wanted to wear them to bed. It's so hard to find jeans that look great, fit great, and feel great so when I do find them, I am in love.

I also love yoga pants and sports bras or sports tanks and wear them constantly around the house. I live in them!

Any T-Shirt I own & some baggy shorts.  So I don't look cool anymore.  I don't care anymore either!  Ha Ha Ha

I know what you mean, Buddy!  And to think I used to wear nylon stockings every day!

I love my PJs too. I just throw away a pair of PJs that I had a long, long time. It was one of my favorites. I'm always buying PJs/Gowns. ;-)

I'd have to say my jeans, since I wear them almost all the time! I guess I'll be putting away the blue jean shorts soon, since it's getting colder. I still have jeans in three sizes (my fat jeans - that I hope to never wear again, my normal size jeans, and my skinny jeans).

You will all hate me but I bought a mink jacket on E-Bay for $25.00 and I love it. It is so warm. I live in New Mexico but we have cold nights and I am always cold. I know mink is bad these days but the coat is beautiful and looks totally cool with jeans or silk.

I like warm sweaters in the autumn when the leaves turn color and there's a nip in the air.

Now that the days and evenings are getting cool, a good pair of sweatpants after works fits the bill. My family jokes they are going to get me one of those snuggies, as I am always cold. I also have a winter coat that I can't seem to part with, had for 15 years now. I bought it on sale at Hudson's, great deal, it's now a smidge big on me but I love it. It shows signs of age, wore it everywhere. So this past winter I bought two coats at Macy's. Great deal again. Can't part with the old one, use it when I shovel or wear to work. The other's are more for going out so I don't look so bad. I use items until they fall apart. Plus they do not make clothing like they use to, so when you do find something well made it needs to be classic to keep around.

I have a pair of skinny jeans. Paris Blues are the best, I love the stitching. Ooh, since I mentioned that I have to talk about my faux brown reptile pumps with a wood looking heel. So cute and I got them at TJMaxx. Great prices.

A blue fleece pullover I got in Corpus Christi in 1998. It goes with me on every winter vacation and is extremey comfortable and hasn't faded at all.

I will wear shoes until they literally fall apart and can't be repaired. Used to love Bass mocassins but the last few pair I wore weren't made very well.

I've got a 1980s vintage U.S, Army BDU jacket (NATO Woodland Camo Pattern) which I like to wear when it gets cold or when I go to the movies (because the air conditioning is too chilly).

Then, of course, there's my Indiana Jones hat.  The one I have is hat Number Two; the first one I owned was partially chewed on by a dog....

A hand knit scarf my mom made me ages ago, it's a classic and keeps me warm and cozy on a head turning cold, windy day.
