When I watch these two the truth rings clear for me. One, wants to shape the world correct, the other wants to plea to the individual.

Obama really came across as a quick mouth slickster, and somewhat cocky, without experience, that wants to reward people that got us in this mess. Did I mention a proven liar?

McCain seemed very genuine and steed fast. He seems to be for the future of the nation, the good for now that will benefit the world in due time.

I'm not one for greed, or myself when it comes to our great nation. McCain will be my choice.

Perry, I did not watch, but gotta say I know you are about to have some people come say the opposite :)

As much as I am for McCain, I believe a lot of times your perception of the debates comes down to who you want to win.  You want Obama to be bad b/c you want McCain to win!  I already know at least one person (who is on Obama's side) who thinks McCain sucks.

Anyway, I personally like McCain, I skipped this debate bc usually the answers from both sides don't do much for me in the past 2.

Can you tell me how Obama is a proven liar though?  I don't follow all the stories so I haven't heard this before.

Yes, I know I will get attacked, but this is MO, so I hope people will respect that and just voice what they feel.

I would rather go with experience and someone who fought for his country, a proven hero in the worst of situations.

They are all politicians, which means they have "spin doctors" advising them what to say and how to say it!  The bottom line however is in terms of specifics as to what he plans to do, Obama wins big time.  He's not afraid to say "I will tax the upper 5%".  Whereas McCain says "Don't tax anyone".  Come on now, does that make sense?  This country is in debt way beyond our means!  The government needs a source of income to pay for programs.  If we go Republican, then supposedly no tax increases, which really means no federal tax increase, which means less money to the states, which means an increase in the states property taxes, and sales taxes!  If we go Democrate then the top 5% of the wealthy will have to live without buying another luxury toy, or will have to cut back on the golf game, and help pay for some of the services that they benefit from, such as police, fire, trash pickup etc.  It's high time they become a team player.   Obama did not sound cocky, he sounded confident.  He said what he plans to do.  McCain only tried to discredit Obama.  McCain should be saying how his plan will benefit this country, and then maybe he'd get my vote, except that his choice for a VP was extremely poor!  So he definately lost my vote on that one.

Perry, I agree with everything you have said. McCain speaks from his heart and he cares about what happens to this country. I don't have anything against Obama. I just feel McCain has the experience and he has fought for his country. I know some of my friends are not voting for McCain because of Sarah Palin, but I think she has a lot of experience even though some would agrue with you about that. I mean she was mayor of her town and then governor of Alaska. I am proud McCain chose her as his running mate. Thanks, Krista

I watched the debate last night and made up my mind.  To me the debate helped solidify the way I was leaning and that is a good thing because I was getting really frustrated with the whole election.  This election I will put country first; the world second and then pray for whoever is elected.

Meri I totally agree with you!  I get so frustrated when people try to argue with me or force me to change my mind.  If everyone could agree on one person, then there wouldn't need to be an election.  Besides, sometimes if people argue with you too much it's like they are saying one candidate is HORRIBLE and the other is WONDERFUL.  We all know that is never the case.

It was clear to me and majority of the American people (who watched the debates) who won last nights' and indeed, all three debates: Barak Obama.   Another thing is also clear: John McCain has no vision for this nation's future; he has no plan other than to follow the now discredited Republican mantra of market first, low taxes, and well, little else!  Nation first is fine, and for (15) years I put my nation first, and served her faithfully through a few shooting engagements including the first Gulf War.

But the U.S. is falling behind the rest of the world in so many key measurements that USED to make this nation the envy of the world.  A report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was released recently that put the U.S. 29th in the world in infant mortality, 29th!  And we are supposed to have the best health care system in the world, or so John McCain keeps telling use.  There is a yawning disconnect between the rhetoric and the truth!

The nation has veered dangerously off-course under Republican stewardship and is sailing into a horrific storm; John McCain has no clue how to steer us clear of it.  Patriotism has its place in every citizen's lexicon, but so too does the truth, and the truth is our nation is floundering and no amount of flag waving, shouts of "U.S.A, U.S.A.," and saying it isn't so Joe, is going to correct our current course; only a visionary leader with intelligence and the ability to project a commanding, well-reasoned persona rooted in the ideals of the Constitution can do that and that man is not John McCain.  Of course the next President cannot do it alone, he will need the American people's support.

We need a President who has demonstrated that he will put the American people (We The People) first-BECASUE we are the nation-but will also be mindful of our historic and needed place in the world.  That man is not John McCain.

We need a President who will be ever mindful of the constraints our Constitutional design places on his office and respect the role of the two other co-equal branches of government and their roles in the Constitutional design.  That man is not John McCain.

We need a President who will work to form a more perfect union for ALL OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, not just those with enough money and influence to afford that second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, or perhaps eighth million dollar home.  That man is not John McCain!

We need a President who is able to lead on a broad spectrum of issues and have to ability to tie one to another in order to formulate a reasoned and cohesive policy to move this nation forward and solve the issues currently vexing us.  That man is not John McCain.

We need a President who not only demonstrates a vision for the American people, and hence the nation, but one who can also hold his own on the world stage with the intelligence, poise, dignity, and the respect, needed, nay, demanded of the leader of the free world.  That man is NOT John McCain, nor is it Sarah Palin!

It's time to put aside the jingoism and look to our country's future; throw off the sweetness of past successes, taste the bitterness of the present and vow to help bring back the American spirit and pride that made (almost) anything possible in the last century.  The John McCain/ Sarah Palin is not the team we need in these trying times.

I am glad you have made up your mind.  You have done that early on.  Good for you.  Not everyone sees things the same way. Paraphrasing a bit, "I may not agree with what you say, but I will fight to the death your right to say it."  I thank-you for your service.

I have one question....why make a post on a discussion board if you have no interest in other people's opinion?  The political threads have been passionate, on both sides, to say the least.  No one on either side has resorted to calling each other names or making deragoatroy statements against another member at all.  Discussion boards are just that....for a topic to be discussed.  If you don't want to discuss the topic with someone you may consider a nemisis, then don't post a public thread on a discussion board. Everyone has an opinion!

By posting an opinion does not mean that someone is trying to change your mind...they are just stating the facts as they see them...it doesn't mean they are trying to shake you down until you change your mind....it is just a discussion.

I had to laugh last night at some of McCain's facial expressions. He totally wears his feelings on his sleeves! :)  Obama is so the opposite-- with a pretty serious exterior at all times. They are an interesting dichotomy.

The debate finally moved me from the middlle, too. I had been leaning in one direction, but kept feeling there was something I was missing. It was Joe the plumber that finally focused the concern and sent me the way I will vote.

Hey you edited that!!  I hate goin gto vote though, and I'm in a new city now so I gotta learn a new school, then you wait in line forever just to find out that you were supposed to fill out a form from line C first but no one told you to go into line C first so now you have to go wait in line C to get the form, fill it out and go back in the first line....

Then you have to wait for the girl to feed your votes through that little thing but she's just a volunteer and doesn't know how to work the machine well and I can see how easy it is to put it in but she won't let me...

Anyway, I can't wait til the day til voting is computerized somehow!!

In my new town, actually new state, they mail me the form and I just mail it back. The real benefit, though, is that I can go through the neighbor's trash, gather up the ones they threw away, and make my vote count almost as much as those registered by ACORN. :-)

You are soooo naive, the words and the numbers are different from what will actually happen.  Do you actually beleive that only 5% percent of the population make that much money, then you are  way misinformed or dillusional. Obama puts out numbers that make people feel good and secure, but they are bullshit. So if you are that uninformed about economics and foreign policy sorry for you, vote Obama and then sorry for this country

It is VERY clear to me that the majority of the American people want Barak Obama!!!

John McCain has NO logical plan for this nation's future, except to follow the already screwed up mess the Republican party has put us in.

The U.S. is falling behind the rest of the world,  We are supposed to have the best health care system in the world, at least that's what John McCain keeps saying.  NOT!

The  Republicans have dug us such a DEEP DEEP hole; John McCain has no clue how to get us out of it. The next President cannot do it by himself, he will need the support of the American people . This is not John McCain!!!

We need a President who has showed that he will put the American people first.  This is not John McCain!!!

We need a President who will work  for ALL of the American people not just those with enough money and influence to afford several million dollar homes.  This is not John McCain.!!!

Our next president has to be able move this nation forward and solve the issues currently hanging over us.  This is not John McCain.!!!

We need a President who has a long term vision for the American people, and the nation, but one who can also hold his own with the world,  with the intelligence, dignity, and the respect that we expect from the leader of OUR nation.  This is not John McCain.!!!

It's time to look at our country's future and help bring back the American spirit that makes anything possible. ( At least it used to!!!)  John McCain/ Sarah Palin is NOT the leadership we need in these very unstable times that the republicans have already put us in.

ALL the debates kind of bothered me anyway, because McCain kept snickering and making smirks every-time Obama was speaking.  Do we REALLY want a president that can't even respect his opponents opinion and time to speak???  Gee that would mean he DEFINITELY WILL NOT respect the opinions of the American people!!!!!!! IS that what we want??????????  I don't think so!!!!!!!

WE NEED A CHANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   That change is Barak Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS:  We need to respect everyones views in the political world! We are all allowed our opinion and this is mine, even if it is different from others.

I would think it hard for someone to register under many names. At least I hope so.  It is odd though that so many posts sound so familiar-

Yea, it is quite common when it comes to message boards. I belong to many, and see it all the time. As long as someone has more than one email (which a lot of people do), its very easy, and can be easy to spot. :)

My question would be , why does someone come here , set up an account, just to post on the boards without ever writing a review?

I reported something yesterday.....someone opened an account and then picked a topic to review but the heading for the topic was really inapporopriate (can't repeat it) and never wrote a review.  So when you looked at lastest reviews you saw this inappropriate heading.

I Don't know why someone would do that....boredom, maybe just looking to stir up trouble.  I reported another that had a topic and a heading but the review was just a sentence that included a four letter word over and over and over.  This person did several reviews like this.
