We heard ya on the increased required character count. Here's what we implemented last night:

What is the difference between a "quick review" and a "review"?

A review requires a sound bite, star rating, I Am tags and at least 500 characters of text. Reviews are for sharing a detailed rundown of your experience and opinion. Reviews contribute to your writer status so the more you write, the more your reputation grows.

A quick review only requires a star rating and a sound bite. Quick reviews allow you to add a meaningful blurb and rating without writing extra details. Quick reviews do not count toward writer status.

You can find your combined "review" and "quick review" count on your "My Home" page under review total. Also, you can access your quick reviews and reviews (filtered separately) from the "Reviews" section on your "My Home" page. You will see a section called Review Type which allows you to sort by "full" or "quick reviews." Remember, quick reviews can be upgraded to reviews at any time by adding the additional required fields and text using the edit button.

As Jolie mentioned in the quick reviews feedback thread... we will always value the quality reviews over the one liner quick reviews by sorting them differently and allowing only complete reviews to count toward writer status.

Also, we added messaging after publishing any contribution so you know if you supplied all the fields necessary to qualify as a full review.

We added an "official" description of quick reviews vs. reviews on the FAQ page.

Huge thanks to all who voiced your opinions on this feature. A lot of the changes we made are a result of what we heard from you guys. As always, we're happy to hear more of your feedback now as you test out review and quick review writing.

This works.  Although I'd like to have something prevent me from missing fields, at least now I can easily filter out Quick reviews to fill in anything I missed.

Thanks!!!!!!!!

Sounds great... thanks!

PS: Yay!! Using the new sorting feature, I was finally able to find my "Rating" (now "Quick Review"). It was a full-length review with lots of pictures, but I forgot to add "I am" tags. Now it has "I am" tags and is a regular review.

Yes I AM Tags are the thing I missed on mine most of the time.

Mine says they are all full reviews yet I am missing two in the total stats.  I thought they would show up in a day or two like missing reviews but they haven't.  Is there a quick way to figure out which two are MIA?

That's great BUT I just fixed two that clearly weren't meant to be quick reviews and my latest which is missing nothing and they are still showing up as quick reviews. Why would the one I just submitted be on the list. I can see the older ones - maybe it takes time to reboot?

Yea, there is a 30 min. delay after you make that change. Let me if it did not update correctly by now.

Not sure I see what you are referring to. Do you mean you have 2 reviews missing on your stats page?... If you have missing reviews there for a couple days that would most likely be a technical glitch we'd need to look into. I see your total review count shows 118 on both your review page and profile page.

That's correct but the total on the stats page is only 116.

Because stats are not publicly displayed... can you please check for me to see if the 2 missing reviews are your Nov. 5 postings: Ponce de Leon and Juicy Burgers? I have a sneaking suspicion those two may be the culprits since they are the most recent. In the meantime, we'll take a look at stats on the backend and find out if there are errors. Thanks Meri!

When you finish a review it gives you a statement that says the review qualifies as a review and that you are on a roll and keep writing (something to that effect).  Anyway, it's helpful for those who may forget to add a tag to their review.  If you don't "tag" it then it is a rating not a review.  It also does the word count so if it's less than 500 words it will count as a rating not review.

In a nutshell: If you get the above message then that post will count toward your review count for writing status.

Less than 500 words? Do you mean characters? I write reviews of less than 500 words (barely) and they're reviews.

First message from Meredith says  500 characters....   I'm pretty sure its 500 characters plus filling out the various fields....  You usually or always get a message that this REVIEW counts towards your blah blah status if you are posting the right sort of thing.

No worries Patty...

I'm sure you are right. My reviews show up as reviews when they are just under 500 words. I see way too many reviews that are 200 words or less that are reviews to think we need 500 words. Not that 500 words is hard for me to write. lol.
