Share the last movie you saw, and give it a rating between 1 & 10.  (10 being best)

The Unborn

3 1/2 *.  The storyline was DUMB, DUMB, DUMB, but the imagery was actually pretty good.

State of Play with Russell Crowe and Ben Affleck - 7 stars

The movie was pretty good, but there is a really bad character in the movie that just made it silly at times.  Without that character, I would have given it 8 stars.

The last "new" movie I saw was The Reader.  I don't remember what I rated it when I reviewed it, but a few months after the fact, I'd probably give it 3 stars.

The most recent movie I watched was Clue last Friday night.  4 stars just because it is so funny.

I haven't been to a theater in ages (though I am going next week to MJ's thing). The last movie I saw on cable a few nights ago was "Chicago" - a remake of the musical with Richard Gere, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Renee Zellwegger. I HATED IT. They couldn't sing, dance, or make the musical realistic in any way.

1 star at best. Just a terrible slaughter of the musical.

The Final Destination in 3D ten stars for it's disgustingness, lack of plot, undeveloped characters and for it being exactly what it was advertised to be, which is the same as the previous three.

Last video was 17 Again. Holy crap that was WAY better and funnier than I thought it would be. I am buying that.

I watched a film on Netflix last night that I immediately reviewed after viewing here at Viewpoints.  It was called Death of a Ghost Hunter.  The acting was bad and it was almost all shot in that cheesy night vision like on that silly show Most Haunted, but the storyline was actually super twisted and religiously creepy.  I was rivited to the computer screen and could not stop watching despite the bad acting.  Because of the terrible acting, I cannot give it a ten.  Had good actors been in it who could actually act, it would get a ten, but in spite of that misfortune, I still give it an 8!

Last movie I saw was the romantic comedy The Proposal with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. I'd have to give it a strong 6, it had it's funny moments but it wasn't anything really special. I've seen other movies with Ryan Reynolds and he seems to act the same in all of them.

I just watched Doubt, starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams. (Not to be confused with Julie & Julia, which also stars Meryl Streep and Amy Adams.) I give Doubt 6 stars, as it is a slow-moving drama with a somewhat ambiguous ending. However, it has its moments of power and the acting is excellent.

Saw Breaking Up (from Netflix) last night. Not so great. Maybe a 4. No chemistry between Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn, and they did a poor job of introducing and letting you know the relationship with other characters. Don't know why they PURPOSELY chose 3 of the ugliest guys to be in this movie: Vaughn, Vincent D'Onofrio, and don't know his name, but he played the bartender friend and had been Monica's extreme-fighter boyfriend on Friends for a while. Eeeeeewwww!

Michael Moore's SICKO (from NETFLIX)

Last night I watched Frost/Nixon and give it 5 stars.  Although it was a Ron Howard film based on a true story, I didn't find the story very compelling.

I just watched X-Men Origins: Wolverine and thought it was pretty good, especially since I'm not really into sci-fi or comic book movies.  6 stars.

I watched Gran Torino a couple nights ago and give it an 8 out of 10. It's a very good movie, although the language is REALLY strong.

I went to see Inglorious Basterds a few nights ago. It was crazy violent (of course a Quentin Tarantino flick!), but usually I can't sit through a movie that long without getting antsy, so 9 stars for doing what is usually un-doable. I thought the plot was original, but I thought I read that it was a remake.

Although not technically a movie, I just finished watching a Showtime series called Californication with David Duchovny.  I love it!  It's hilarious, serious, realistic (at times) and I give it 9.5 stars!

I just watched the Quentin Tarantino film Jackie Brown and was totally disappointed.  I give it 3 stars out of 10.

Ugly Truth...  very charismatic appealing leads but a movie you absolutely have to put your brain on hold to enjoy...the intent was a very profane version of a Tracy -Hepburn flick...slicked up terrible movie...  5 out of 10 if you can put your brain on hold and enjoy the lead performances... but it's really a 2 out of 10 movie...  manipulative, junk.

Today I watched the first season of Weeds, which is either on Showtime or HBO, but I rented it from Blockbuster online.  I give it 4.5 stars out of 10.

In the theater, the last movie I saw was Michael Jackson: This is It and I rate it a 9 out of 10 only because this really IS it. We won't see anything else like we saw in the theater (except on DVD). It was a cool look at the tour that won't happen now, the way Michael commanded the people around him, how well he still could dance and sing, and behind the scene video footage. I enjoyed the movie for what it was which was not a movie or a documentary but rehearsal footage and some behind the scenes stuff.

I hated the previews, however, that lasted forever and were so loud they almost blew my head off. I give those 1 star!

Last month I took my granddaughters to see, "Cloudy, with a Chance of Meatballs" in 3D. The previews made it look really good and it was rated high enough.

The girls were okay with it but I was bored. After the movie they complained that there weren't enough 3D scenes to make it worth the extra money... "out of the mouths of babes"!

Last movie: Duma ... Rating: 8 as a family film.  only an 8 as it did run a little slow but man it was really good and really well done overall.

Favella Rising  a documentary about Anderson organizing several young people in his Brazil ghetto to play music and not be part of the gangs or drug problem that was killing thousands of people under the age of 18 every year.   Wow.. the situation he had to overcome were remarkable and then to have a personal tragedy nearly destroy his life and to over come that as well.

10 out of 10..,  a great story....  some incredible footage too.

Since I raised three boys I have seen all of the comic book movies... I liked this movie because it explained how Wolverine came to be.... I would say a 6 is a good rating... maybe a 7.

We watched the movie, Orphan, the other night.  It was actually a little better than I thought it would be, but was still not a box buster.  I'd give it 5 stars.

Jo - I want to watch that movie, thanks for suggesting it, because I forgot all about it :)

jasyjen - My close friend said that movie was amazing, but he thinks all movies are amazing, so thanks for realistic rating :)
