I ran a search on gigi. That brings up a lot of member hits. Is it just gigi (on the member name) or are there any other letters/numbers after?

In any case, prayers up for the Gigi you mention and any others having a rough time too.

GigiandAdonai has been very active in the discussions and has gone the extra mile in reading and commenting to loads of my reviews. I'm praying for her as I write this.

I know quite a few writers here have overcome some big challenges, and I admire them for their perseverence. Prayer can do some pretty powerful things! It doesn't always fix everything but it can give a sense of peace.

GigiandAdonai has been a very welcome, warm, and fun presence here in the past few months. My prayers for a speedy recovery and return!

Hello everyone--this is Anna Leigh (writersquill).  After I read all the comments that were sent my way on Gigi's behalf I decided to share them with her.  She was so upset believing she was going to be in the hospital during the holidays. 

I saw her last night and she was finally able to eat--thank God!  She should be discharged this afternoon--they're just waiting for the doctor to make his rounds and it takes longer on the weekends.

Gigi's lungs collapsed yesterday after she reacted to the meds.  They drained the fluid from her lungs and she was "up and running" a few hours later.  She even asked to go to the family room to get on the computer but there was a child playing on the Disney website.  She said she was able to read her inbox but couldn't respond because she was dragging her IV pole around with her.  And, one of the nurse techs got a kick out of some of the discussion boards--I'm sure you'll hear more about that later ;+) 

She said to send all her love to you and many thanks for the prayers.  She'll see the pulmonologist again after Christmas.

Gigi had this quote printed and hung on her hospital room door so that she could encourage others when they visited her.  "Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall."  No matter how difficult she has it she always thinks of others.  She is one special person and I'm glad that she will be well. 

She said she will try to be online this evening.  She is well rested and ready to "party."  The hospital staff can hardly contain her because she is hyper now from so much rest and ready to get back to all the fun!

what wonderful news! will try to stay up for our weekend slumber party but after this week, my son visiting and a trip to NOLA, I am exhausted, but want to at least try to say hello to her and rejoice in the good news.

I don't really think I've had the pleasure of "meeting" Gigi yet, but she sounds like such a sweetheart, and so caring of others.

Gigi didn't get to come home after all.  Her lungs collapsed again shortly after I left the hospital.  It seems she is reacting to the meds but they have got to find something that can regulate her heart rate without causing her lungs to fill up with fluids.  She got very sick after she tried to eat lunch and the doctor said it was probably too much pressure on the lungs. 

Gigi had a chemo-induced lung disease while she was undergoing treatments for bone cancer and she believes the symptoms are similar to that.  The Lord is so good because she isn't freaking out as much as I would.  I think it's because she knows what we all know--God is in control.  Gigi said she had her lungs drained over 15 times while going thru chemo so she doesn't think that's a big deal.  She is just getting frustrated with the hospital stay. 

I stayed at the hospital with her for several hours because she was just a little upset because she was going to miss her family Christmas party.  She cried a lot and that just made her more sick.

I was able to rent "Elf" and she laughed so much we had to turn it off because she could barely catch her breath.  I left her around 7 and she was sleeping peacefully.   Oh, she said to tell one of the girls that she has got to do some more reading while lying around.  I think 2 of you were going to try to read more???

I'll keep you posted as I found out new information.  I have asked her family to contact me as soon as she is discharged or once they get her home. 

I'll take my laptop up there tomorrow after church and let her read any new comments and get her to some the boards.  The hospital staff said they have heard a lot about her virtual slumber party and many are curious as to what you all do there ;+)

I'm so sorry to hear that Gigi had a setback. I do know that she is a strong woman and her spirit is high so I'm confident she will get through this! I will pray for her and thank you for keeping us posted. *hugs*

I hope Gigi gets well, soon! . . . We tell a bunch of jokes play games and chit chat in the slumber party; it's SSOOO MUCH FUN!!! When I can stay up for it! . . . After all, laughter is usually the best medicine!

I am back home and thank you all for your love and prayers and all the kind comments that were sent my way.  I got home about 9 this mornning.  I have already talked with Anna Leigh and Shelton.  I was able to reach them before they left for church.

I saw the pulmonologist yesterday and she said my lungs will be fine within the next week.  I just had a severe reaction to some of the medications and my body couldn't properly process any liquids and thus the lungs were filling up and "drowning" me.  The Lord was there with me because it was a good thing I was in the hospital when all this happened.

I have a slight irregularity with the lower left quadrant of my heart and that is what they believed caused me to faint. 

Anna Leigh was so kind in keeping you posted on my condition and all of you were very kind in sending me well wishes.  You are some of the greatest friends and prayer warriors that I have never met! 

My brother and his wife came and picked me up from the hospital and R11, guess what my first request was?  I wanted a southern style chicken biscuit from McD's.  I felt like I was starving!  I begged the nurse tech to let me skip the hospital breakfast, promising them that if I was out before 10:30 I would get a biscuit and sweet tea from McD's and I did ;+)  My brother also bought me some of his wonderful homemade chicken salad from the family Christmas party so I have that to eat from for a few days.

I  hope all are doing well and enjoying this time of year.  I am very well rested (for now) and I am going to the boards to see what all has been going on and to get my 2 cents worth in ;+)

Thanks again for extending your love and kindness to me, most importantly for praying for me.

Okay, I'm going to some the boards and oh, if you see a lot of phantom votes in the days to come it may be me trying to do a lot of catching up!  I'm off all this week so I may be at Viewpoints a lot!  Hey, at least I'll be resting--just like the doctors said ;+)

The doctors are actually okay with this because they even allowed Anna Leigh to bring her laptop up there so I could read comments.  I even went to the family room in my unit several times to get on the computer.  The doctor's order was plenty of rest, no extreme busy-ness, physical stuff, etc.  I was already scheduled off work for the week so it worked out.  I'll take it easy until Wed. or Thurs. and then I'll end up at my best friend's house for a few days.

Vixen! wow now that's an artist!  So good to see you back with us Gigi, make sure you prop up your feet, lay on the couch and relax.

Lisa, thanks for the warm welcome and encouraging thoughts.   The funny thing is: Whenever I come inot my study to get on the PC if I am in here for a while I will prop my feet up on the computer hutch ;+)

Okay, Gigi!  It's 1:30 A.M. here and I just peeked into your room to see if you were still up, fooling around with that computer!  You've had a nice long day, you're safe at home now and it's time to go to bed.  I think it would be a nice night (or early morning by now) to have a cup of something I saw at the 7/11 tonight:  steamed hot milk with vanilla syrup and a dash of cinnamon!  Doesn't that sound good?  I haven't had hot milk in years but it is very cozy and reassuring. 

Well, I'm about to flop where I drop and so I'll sign off for now and catch ya in the a.m.!
