I was leaving a warehouse style store this morning and once again thought, "These enter and exit doors are on the wrong sides which creates a strange traffic pattern/direction. " In my mind it should be like a traffic pattern. You enter on the right and exit on the right. I realize this is a pet peeve of mine and wonder what pet peeves you might have...

Too many commericals on tv when you trying to watch your show.Sales people that stand there and wait for you to make a opinion instead of walking away to give you sometime to think. Or when you do need a sales person you can't find one.People that would rather drive behind you really close with there brights on then go around.Stupid.

Some other of my pet peeves are as follows:

People who use bad grammar : Example :Ain't , makes my blood boil.

People who can't read. I have to agree w/ most of you on that.

Also people who are just plain rude on the phone.

I really only have one: People driving and yapping/texting on their cell phones on busy streets/highways. They're more effing dangerous than drunk drivers.

Other pet peeves:

2.  Bad spellers.

It's reached epidemik perporshuns! (ROFTTLBACVH)

As I remarked to pitcherday, I can forgive bad spellers if I know they have dyslexia or other learning disabilities.

Having said that, I am a product of the public school system and I know that many bad spellers are this way because they disliked school and only did the minimum amount of school work to get by until graduation.  They didn't like reading and they disliked English composition classes; when I asked them (and I was a kid then!) why they were so indifferent, they'd say, "Well, I don't need to know all this if I'm going to play football or be a computer technician!"

This is amazing- my mom is in an Assisted Living facility. Shouldn't they have the kind of doors that slide open? No these doors have a button and you have to walk through the first door and then the second door opens and stays open for exactly 20 seconds. If the person using a walker doesn't get out fast enough the door hits them (yup it happened twice to my mom - two times to the hospital through no fault of her own). To answer your question- everyone is aware of the problem but nothing is done about it. The place is wonderful other than that.

People texting and cell phoning is a big one for me too.I just dont think it is possible to drive, pay full attention and text too.I have a cell phone too and when I get a call I wait until I am at my dstinatin before I talk or I just check my messages because nothing can be so important that it cant wait until I am parked and I am not gonna put myself and othe drivers at risk.

People who block the aisles in grocery stores or who walk very slowly and don't let me around them. ---This makes me mad too.  It's like some people just dont understand that they aren't the only shopper in the store!

People who bring 5000 coupons to the checkout lines.

People who, when you let them in front of you because they only have a few things, order cigarettes, which are stored miles away.

People who enter the freeway without matching their speed or trying to merge properly. ---this one drives me nuts...it especially makes me fume when the people merging act like it is the responsibility of the drivers already on the freeway to move over so that they can merge.  Either increase or decrease your speed to merge in!

The way the volume goes way up during TV commercials.

People who don't speak when I say "hi" in passing.

"Adult" TV ads. Have we NO shame anymore?

When you're scheduled for an appointment at a specific time, show up on time and end up having to wait....and wait....and wait.  What's the point of having a set-time appointment?? I think it's all annoying because we expect certain things to be done in a certain way, when it doesn't happen, it gets on our nerves.

Agreed.  I read an opinion article once and someone wrote in that if the wait for a doctor's appointment goes over a certain amount of time...the customer actually sends the doctor a bill for the time over what he felt is a reasonable amount of time to be seen by the doctor and a small window of wait time.  Who knows if this bill gets paid...but it is interesting thinking.  Everyones time is worth money...not just the doctors.

These are all great!

I thought of another one: walking into a public restroom stall and finding that the person before me didn't have the decency to flush the toilet!

And walkign in to find dribbles on the toilet seat.  No thanks!

...or when you walk into a public restroom and someone is already in a stall and just waits silently until you are done and leave.  I feel so uncomfortable.

With all of my posts I have come up with my #1 pet peeve of all time....

Cigarette smokers.  I can't stand the smell of smoke, the look of someone smoking, the way the smoke makes me feel sick...the way it stays in my hair for hours....the way it makes my clothes stink....the fact that smokers actually get paid breaks to aid their addiction...the way some smokers won't admit that they ARE smokers ("I only smoke when I drink" or "I only smoke about once a month".  You smoke, therefore you ARE a smoker!)...the way some flick their butts anywhere they please...the fact that cigarettes kill the smokers and others that have to breathe in the deadly smoke.
Sorry...a little much--but I needed to get it out.

A real peeve of mine is when people don't acknowledge a gift that I send them - no Thank You card, no phone call, not even an e-mail. when I was growing up I was taught that you write a Thank You note within 1 week after I recieved it & I brought my kids up the same way.

I don't expect people to kiss my feet with gratitude but if I take time to find a certain gift for somebody special, spend money to buy it, buy wrapping paper & ribbons, wrap it, take time to go to the Post office & pay to mail it, I deserve to be thanked in some way or another!

Rebates that only come in debit or gift card form; I want a check.

Lazy neighbors that won't rake their leaves and they all blow into my yard.

People at stores that hold up the line because they don't have a pen to write out their check or their cc card won't go through.

Cars that pull out in front of you (cut you off) and then slow down.

Parents that don't make any effort to disclipline their bratty kids at stores.

Rude or stupid salesclerks.
