It is always sad when a life is taken early. Patrick Swayze was a favorite of mine- as all actors who have gone on before him, he will live on through his movies... RIP, Patrick

Just saw that on FaceBook. That is really sad. He seemed a great guy, and I loved Dirty Dancing.

I was very saddened when I heard that Patrick has passed away. I knew he was not doing well. I saw a recent photo and he was skin and bones and looked so old. It was so shocking. I was hoping that somehow he could at least go into remission for a few years if not be cured. I am just so sad that a good man like him is gone so soon.

I loved his work and, of course, Dirty Dancing will forever be my fave mine and he will forever be Johnny Castle to me. (Ghost, Road House, and others were great too but DD is THE movie!.)

RIP Patrick Swayze. I hope you are at peace.

Just like alot of people, he will be missed. I loved Dirty Dancing and Ghost my favorites. Seems like too many young lives are gone to soon. And lately alot have passed, both young and old. I hadn't seen him in awhile, last time I saw him doing an interview he didn't look that ill. Although with that type of Cancer you just kind of know. If your not a Detroiter, I do not know if you know who Ernie Harwell is. He just announced he has the same type of cancer (I believe that's what I heard).

So sad, I feel for his family. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. God Rest His Soul!

I was hoping that he could hang on to make an appearance in the re-make of Red Dawn.  He is certainly going to be missed.

Dirty Dancing and Ghost are two of my favorite movies as well.  I'm so sorry to hear that he's lost his battle, but am glad he is no longer suffering.  He seemed like a really good guy and a great husband.  I've always had a soft spot for those Texas boys :)

I was so sad when I heard Patrick Swayze died!  My mom and I used to watch all his movies when I was growing up like Dirty Dancing, Ghost, and that movie where he was a bouncer!  He will be missed and luckily I think he will continue to inspire people with the movie Dirty Dancing because it is such a classic!

Ditto with "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost". I hope and pray that someday during my lifetime there will be a cure for all cancers. My prayers are with his wife, friends and loved ones.

"Ghost" and "Dirty Dancing" will forever be classics. I really like one his lesser known movies called, "Black Dog"... if you haven't seen it, check it out in his memory.

I am such a fan that I even watched his last show, The Beast. It was hard to watch as he was sick and it showed. The show was not his best work (DD was if you ask me) but it was still fun to see him regularly on TV. RIP

I've been listening on youtube to the songs from Dirty Dancing. He seemed like a good guy and still married to his first wife! He will be missed.

I read that they met when he was 19 and she was 15... she was a pilot and would fly him to the cancer center for treatments.

This news makes me so sad.  He seemed like he was just a nice, normal guy who happened to be in some movies.

He had such amazing respect for his wife and she seemed to have the same for him. They truly seemed to be in love every time I saw them together. I don't know if they had kids but I am sure she is feeling very lost right now without her soul mate.

I felt really bad when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer - the survival rates are so low... but he was brave and kept working. He seemed like a good guy - not too much controversy. I am torn between DD and Ghost. Let's call it a tie. RIP Mr. S

I too am feeling the loss of Patrick Swayze. Such a talented actor. I loved every movie he was in.  RIP

I was hoping that the E! True Hollywood Story, or Biography would be showing shows about him, like they do when other famous people die... none yet.  :( I don't have a Tivo, but usually they show right up in the channel lineup. Disappointing.
