Happy Mother's Day to you too! I know I have had plenty of women in my life that have been "mother's" to me - I have been truly blessed as they mentor, listen, comfort, console and offer friendship and advice.  The most important one of course is my own dear mom and grandmother!

I will be going to evening Mass in a couple hours.  It used to be that they asked all the mothers to stand up and we would applaud them but now they ask all the women to stand up because so many women have been like a mother to someone else.  I don't know what I would have done without my aunts, especially Aunt Tatty who didn't have children of her own but was very often like a mother to me. 

And on Father's Day at church, they have all the men stand up too and we applaud them.

This is a great idea.  Our church gives flowers to all of the women.
