Yeah that is the same suggestion I sent to meredith as my idea for next time :)  I got an out of office reply though so I don't think she'll be here to answer the category question, although I'm sure it's ANYTHING that falls in those 8 areas.

I must confess I'm glad I'm not the only one a little confused. I thought it was this "ick" I am dealing with. My brain is in a fog, so I'm not sure how much I can write or how well. Oh well. Anything helps I'm sure, so if I get a a badge - great. If not, a few more reviews are added.

I think it is everything in those categories because, when you click on the "ad" from your home page and it brings up the list of what to review, Toys and Clothes aren't even on the list yet those are two of the categories that were in the official rules.

Actually, it does list toys and clothes but very specifically-- baby toys and maternity clothes. It also does say "must be in any of the categories listed to the right". My guess is that these are the specific categories that qualify for the badge. I hope I'm wrong because there are a couple of reviews I wrote that don't qualify at all even though I thought they did at first.

I'm also guessing that when it states that prizes will be given away for those who write the most, it's not limited to these categories? Or is it?

Considering those very specific categories ARE NOT listed in the official rules, I think those links are just examples to help people find products to review.

But Toys and Clothing are two specific categories of their own. I saw the maternity clothes and baby toys but I really think they mean the whole category of products. The official rules do not state that there are any specific items that should be reviewed under the categories listed.

I do think the prizes are for whoever writes the most in those categories.

Go to My Home --> advertisement on the bottom of your home page.  That opens one page, but then on the bottom left of that page is a link to "official rules"

I would write more in this space, but I am busy writing reviews! :-)

Actually, I think you are correct. When I look at the list of of specific categories, the link says this: review suggestions.

The official rules, as you state, is the broader categories of Baby, Beauty, Clothing, Computers, Electronics, Health, Home & Garden, and Toys.

I think when in doubt, go by the official rules.

I am going to continue to just write reviews in the listed categories of Baby, Beauty, Clothing, Computers, Health, Home & Garden and Toys.  If, after writing 10 of them in those categories, they don't qualify... well, let's just say that I will be extremely unhappy with Viewpoints.

Just heard from Jolie who is not feeling well. She stated that we can review ANYTHING from the categories listed, not just the certain items that are linked to the ad thing. That is what I thought and hoped.

She or Meredith will expand more tomorrow.

Yay that's awesome. I wish they would have been clear from the beginning.

I want a badge!! I've reviewed soooo many things and I haven't even been here a month yet and I'm an advisor.....What do I have to do? :( I don't ever read my emails....Maybe I should hehe.

I hope you are feeling better. I'm not. Doubt I can pull this one off. Well, I could, but the quality might not be there. And, I am not about that. So, I can do holiday later on my own if I do not bounce back quick. That's OK. I'm really not a big badge person or real competitive.

Tks Nancy. It's almost 3 a.m. here, and I'm too stopped up to sleep. Wish I felt focused enough to write and hope I can make it to work tomorrow.

I'm very surprised there's no pet section in that list...kind of sad actually, I was going to review mine's new food, I still will, it's important, at least to me.

I hope you can get some rest also Cyndi, fellow BBQ gal...no BBQ today though, raining here.   I did review my grill though, that's on the list. 

Drink plenty of water, get the Vick's or some Eucalyptus oil...

The pet section is looked at and read often but apparently that doesn't convert to click throughs and revenue. It is one of the lowest paying categories along with a few others. The funny thing is, my pet products reviews get read a lot. But as I said elsewhere, reads don't equal revenue I guess. You're still helping lots of people by writing in other areas. I review pet stuff a lot and I get tremendous feedback from outside readers. That's better than a badge!
