So it looks like things changed here since I was last here and amazingly I can't find a discussion where you guys are talking about it :)  I like the changes, I like seeing who wrote the last post and when.

And did you notice you can discuss a product now?

Pretty neat.  Did you guys notice?  What do you think?

Now I have just a few more idea they could add to improve the boards... Just a link to show "My Discussions" which would show discussions I started and discussions I participated in.

Second, this box needs to be taller for sure.  I'm wordy :)

Strange I don't see this on the main discussions list.  SO I'm replying to it to see if that gets it on there!

Bug Alert: (or maybe it's just me) There seems to be a delay on the board ever since the updates.  This posting didn't show on the main board right away but now it does.  Also, I responded to a couple threads and it didn't show my name as the last response or move to the top of the list right away.

I am seeing a ton of white space above the first forum posts right now, so I have to scroll a ways down in order to see any posts this morning.  Thought I should not it here.

Another Bug Alert: Spokane JUST posted this but it says "about 1 hour ago".  Perhaps this is because I'm on Eastern time and the board is on Chicago time.  But he only posted a minute ago (I know b/c there was no response and now there is).

Any other thoughts, good or bad, or bugs to note about the Boards, use this thread to keep them all together :)

I'm seeing that also, but not in every thread. About half are normal and the other half have a huge amount of white space at the top. You have to scroll down quite a way to see the first post. This first started happening a couple days ago.

Note: This particular thread has a large white space at the top.

I have been seeing white spaces like that in regular posts as well as starting posts.

I think the page of discussions is too jumbled. The games reallllllly need to have their own link and be put in their own area.

I also wish I could now be informed of certain thread replies because I am losing the discussions and I never know where they are or if anyone is still posting to them. It's kind of hard to navigate around here.

I'm not complaining, just observing.

EDIT: Just noticed that, even though I replied here, when I refresh it still shows Bob's post as the last one eight hours ago. The thread didn't go to the top or refresh saying that I commented. No idea if it will or whether it is just on delay...

I posted a topic last night and couldn't find it for a while. I'm not really liking the layout. It's hard to navigate and you can't find anything. I think with all of the product conversations now it's just too much on one board and it takes forever to post... Just my opinion.

Patty, would you like the "my discussions" idea I mentioned?  I think clicking a link to My Discussions would rock b/c then you could JUST see threads you posted in.  I have this at one of the tech-help sites I visit and I LOVE it!  I go there to see if anyone answered my help threads and it's super easy to see them all.

Games on it's own link is needed, especially now that more people are on the boards.  There are sometimes 2-3-4 pages of unread items.  I know they didn't want to call it Games b/c then people might think it's "video games"

SO here's a recommendation: call it Social Hour, or Viewpoints Fun and Games... anyone else have ideas?  Throw them out to help VP come up with an idea.

Here's how I see the links falling on the side:

  • My Discussions
  • Welcome & Get Started
  • Help & Feedback
  • General Discussion
  • Viewpoints Fun and Games (name to be determined)
  • Product Discussions (I think this might need to be separate also since I can see it quickly overwhelming the boards)
  • List of Categories

I like your suggestion of My Discussions very much. I lost track of some discussions I was in and have no idea where they are now.

I also like the categories you posted. We definitely need some organization here especially with products being discussed and with more people posting.

Hi everyone! Thanks for your comments.

1. Yes, we launched product level forums the other night. It was a "soft" launch so that we could get it up and see how it works and see how people interact with it. Glad that you guys found it.

2. On the bugs.front, I will summarize all of your feedback and share with our tech guys and try and get to swift resolution. :) If you want to email me personally any issues too, that would be great as well.... jolie(at)viewpoints.com

Thanks everyone!
