There's always that one person on your list who is hard to shop for.  Mine changes every year b/c last year it was probably my mom who was the hardest, this year I got my mom so much stuff so quickly!  Now it's my dad but just now I think I got something for him.

Use this thread to ask for ideas for the person you are having trouble with!  There are two ways to participate

  1. Need an idea?  Leave age range, relationship, some likes and dislikes of the person as well as a list of things you DONT Want to get them if necessary.
  2. Want to help? Offer ideas to those in need!

Here's mine... my husband and I don't spend a lot on each other, we buy stocking stuffers.  I want to get something interesting instead of just joke stuff.  Any ideas?  He's 31, into video games and 80s movies.  I DON'T Want to get anything electronic b/c he gets that stuff himself on discount.  I'd most like to get him something to get him off the computer for a few hours :)  Please offer ideas!!

Does he like to read?  Maybe a book about many different movies including interesting facts and photos. Does he like to play games with you? Maybe a backgammon set.

Thanks for the suggestions.  He doesn't read much, we get all our movie trivia from IMDB :) Maybe a small game would be fun.

Anyone else need help with their Christmas Shopping?? Post here!

we just bought a doodle pro for 20$ that has letters and supposedly helps you learn to spell!  I like giving kids learning tools as much as possible b/c then they are tricked into learning :)

Teehee! We have the fart machine. It's fun as well as the fart putty (even less expensive) that I reviewed here. (that's a note to review11 and her post and not an idea for the hubby)

Ok I'm back to not knowing what to get my dad!

He's into history, reading, coffee and such... but he gets most books from the library and reads so fast that it's not worth it to do books anymore... and I've bought him coffee and peanuts SO MANY times!  My husband and I said that the perfect gift would be a new digital camera but a good one is outside our budget.  Any other suggestions??

We got the fart machine online. It's at thefartmachine.com/ with a www first. That fart putty is at Wal-Mart under the name Flarp. It's near the Silly String and little toys like the bubbles, or it is here.

Now I have confessed before the world that I'm the fart toy expert (-:

ROF. I think I'll just tell people I'm the fart expert. That sounds more interesting.

For the hubbie Suzi - think about a coupon book. Make it yourself and let him cash in as he likes. It could be simple things like a favorite food, covering a chore he does, back rub, picnic in park etc.

I already told me sis I'd rather have some help cleaning up than anything. Check prices on the Merry Maids etc. That has real value. Plus, having help will keep me motivated and be more fun. Someone to talk to and laugh with as well.

I think, for many of us, we don't need/want much stuff. OK. I'll just speak for me. I do appreciate the gifts, but the gifts of time are the ones I treasure the most.

He's spoiled enough as it is.  And he's also already got a maid - me.  I wouldn't want a stranger cleaning my house.  It's just weird.

I try to buy things to do for my friends and family, but for stocking stuffers i usually am seeking something funny, or cute, or just something small he can use.

I found the best gift for a workmate who is always running out to buy cold soda: a usb-powered mini fridge that holds just one can of pop. It's available at Urban Outfitters online.

Cool!  I think I've seen that before, it's a great techie gift, I'll look into it as a fun extra for my dad or my husband.
