I was clicking around last-night and found a couple of blank reviews, they gave a star rating and a headline but no review.  Has anyone else seen this, is it my browser or what?
When I go to this review:
http://www.viewpoints.com/Volkswagen-Passat-2006-reviews
and try to read the whole thing it just gives me the same page over and over, am I doing something wrong?

It's not you.  I've come across a few today myself. Maybe we should let Meredith know about it and she can look into it.

Are these the Quick Reviews that you can access from your own home page?  They don't require much input.

Maybe, but I did some quick reviews and you can see the entire review.

I just checked my quick review
http://www.viewpoints.com/Toyota-Echo-2002-review-726f5
and I can read it just fine.  This is weird!

I've seen many of these.  I figured they were made by people who wanted a say but didn't want to put much effort into leaving thoughts.

That's what I thought but then I tried to read one of your reviews last night and had the same problem.

This review is not blank. It is technically a quick review (formerly known as ratings):
http://www.viewpoints.com/Volkswagen-Passat-2006-reviews

Quick reviews ONLY require a sound bite and star rating. Don't worry, you are not missing any additional content. We're working on ways to make the display better so quick reviews are distinctly different from reviews. Please bear with us as we work this out. We really appreciate your patience.

Earlier I asked someone what happened to her reviews. If there was a problem she could contact you. Was this a "Oooops" moment? Where can I find more out about quick reviews. Sorry maybe it's my headache but I'm a bit confused about this.

I thought we read a review maybe leave a comment and click on if something was helpful. How does it work with the Quick Review? Sorry that I missed something, Meredith.

I'm wondering about them too. Some make sense, while others don't. If someone types in a listing full of typos, rates it 3 stars, and says ''Liked it'' how does that help the site?

When did quick reviews officially start? I thought we were really supposed to write more than two sentences. At the very least 5, 6, or 7 informative helpful sentences. But how is just a sound byte and name of product helpful? Or just the name of product with no info?  Glad to know it's not just me wondering. Thanks. I'm actually supportive of everyone but I would like to understand what's what.   : )

The quick reviews is one of the new features when they updated our profile pages.

Quick reviews are just ratings. I don't like them personally but they must add something to the site. I won't ever do one. If I have an opinion, I'll take a few minutes to write it and make it a real review.

I agree. I know mine are usually a lot shorter than yours (which are always interesting) but I just wouldn't feel like it's a review if I didn't at least make an effort to put some useful info in along with an opinion. I wouldn't feel right leaving a review area blank or writing only two sentences.   Do people get points for those too?

Hey LadyMagic! Quick reviews were originally called "ratings" here on Viewpoints. We hear that people either love or loathe the quick review function. Please bear with us as we are working to improve the functionality. We saw a demand for the ability to leave quick blurbs rather than writing a full review. Affiliates of the Mypoints program do not get points for quick reviews.

We understand that some of our members enjoy writing more than others. Everyone has the freedom to choose whether you want to write a full review or share a quick review.

Here's a breakdown of quick reviews vs. full reviews, including how to upgrade any quick review to a full review:

Quick reviews (formally ratings) vs. Reviews

Review requirements:

- Sound bite

- Stars

- I Am tags

- Pros/Cons

- 250 characters (not words)

**If you omit any of the above, your review becomes a quick review**

Quick review requirements:

- Sound Bite

- Stars

**Additional text can still be added but there is no word or character requirement.**

If you go in to EDIT any quick review... you can upgrade it to a review by adding the missing required field(s).

Do quick reviews count as reviews in one's overall review count? I know ratings didn't but I'm not sure about the QR's.

No, quick reviews do not count in your review total.
