I hope this is ok but I have to pass on this news. Some of you are not writing at epinions at all anymore and may not know that Barbara (Ifif1938) is very very sick as in an aggressive form of lung cancer (and it's in her bones I do believe). Right now she is in the hospital. There is a thread over there and her husband and daughter are printing it out for her so she can read our thoughts. Just wanted to let everyone know. Jo

Jo, thanks so much for sharing this, I actually know Barbara from AC -- and was wondering how I could send her my well wishes! I will PM you.

I saw the thread on the other site too. That's such a shame - let's hope and pray they can treat her condition or at least make her comfortable.

Thanks Jo, for passing along. I don't hit the message boards often and hadn't seen this.

Thank you, Jo. I never wrote at epinions nor do I know Barbara. I will pray for her.

I also saw the thread and am hoping that she gets home and is out of pain soon. It's so hard when someone you "know" suddenly is so ill.

I was just notified of the bad news: Barbara passed away this afternon, Friday, April 10. The cancer was too advanced and too extreme to overcome.
A memorial service for Barbara will be held on Tuesday.

I was really shocked when I read that she had passed so quickly. It seems like it had only been a few weeks that she had been sick but, of course, I don't know how long she knew she was ill. It's SO sad. I was totally floored when Lorace (from Eps) died and now Barbara. At least she didn't seem to suffer for very long if that is any consolation to her family. My mom suffered for 4 long years and it was so awful. Barbara's family is in my prayers.

How sad! I'm shocked, too at how sudden this happend. I am glad though that she isn't suffering anyomre from pain. Life is precious and something that shouldn't be taken for granted.

I really don't think she was sick for long. I looked and she commented on a review late in February. We were e-mailing about France in February as well. She may have known she had cancer but I doubt she would have predicted she would be dead in 1 1/2 months. I forgot about Lorace (: We also lost Ed Grover and I know Bryan will remember Hard to Please - this goes way back. Someone else as well in a motorcycle accident. So everyone at VPs, stay healthy. We can't take losing people. It's really hard. We are like family - know about each other's families, etc. etc. and VPs is a much more intimite atmosphere and I truly believe non competitive as in "Wow how cool that so and so got to WC." I love that about VPs. Jo

I was also stunned at how quickly Barbara passed away. I know she was still rating some reviews as recently as last month. She was only 67 - which is not that old anymore. Sadness all around.

It's just so sad, and happened so quickly. Just Oct we saw her in Miami. What a lovely woman and so very kind. It still seems just the other day when she told me on FB she wasn't feeling well. She will be missed.
