Welcome back and I am glad you're doing better!

On the leader board, you can see the total points for all time, per year, and for the past 30 days. This is updated every night.

The badge thing is that, if you earned a higher badge LAST YEAR, you will have that follow you until/if you surpass that status. It doesn't go back more than to 08. Next year, I believe we will keep the badges we have this year until/if we surpass that status.

It's confusing and I am still trying to completely understand that part.

But there is also a list showing the points you need to make each level. On the community page where it talks about the VIP program, click that and you should see a lot of info plus a list of points and badges awarded for those points.

How do you know how far you have until you reach the next level?  I see the total Lifetime Points on my page, but how many of those points are from '09?   I don't see a points tally for the current year.  Am I missing something?

I suggested they add a "points to next badge" on our pages and they said they put it on their to-do list.  That would be neat :)

As Patty said, it is a bit confusing, but I believe after our last discussion the VP team has a long to-do and to-consider list to look at.  For the first go around, I think they did a great job and I imagine the program will only get more and more fine tuned as time goes by.

Now when I click to view the Leaderboard, I see the total points, but I don't see any breakdown of year or of past 30 days:

• Contributions since August 2007
• 460 Reviews Written
• 2,507 Helpful Votes
• 213,851 Review Reads
• 57 Discussion Posts

Then, it just shows the badges.  I looked on the Stats page, but the numbers stayed the same whether I sorted by 30 days, 3 months, or all time.

I guess I'll just continue on and assume it'll work itself out.  Like you said, VP does a great job and things will only get better as time goes by. 

Hi there.  Once you hit "view leaderboard" there are two drop down boxes up top right that you can use to filter by year and category.  This filters the entire list by year/category and then will tell you where you stand on the list.

**Please note the leaderboards do not update instantly like your overall point total does.  Leaderboards update overnight I believe so any points you earn today won't count on there until tomorrow.

Vivasuzi:  Thanks!  I finally found it.  I never even looked at the top of the page..Duh!  LOL

There's an awful lot of stuff on that page isn't there?
