I will pay for quality but I bought a $10.00 waste basket which may not last too long. I guess in that case I wasn't paying for quality. Our daughter and son-in-law have the simplehuman fingerprint-proof slim step can model1872. This is what I would have liked but
I know there are copycats which you can buy for 1/2 the price. I have seen them in the store and I've seen dented ones. The simplehuman fingerprint-proof slim step can will dent anytime soon.
The features
I cannot imagine the copy cats have stainless steel that is finger proof (Imagine how great this is with children?) and whose inner bucket is dent-proof plastic. In addition the pedal and step area are solid stainless steel.
The simplehuman fingerprint-proof slim step can uses regular sized kitchen bags depending on what size you buy. Our daughter's is 30 liter/8 gallon measuring 18.7" in diameter by 10.4 inches wide by 22.4 inches high. With the lid open it is 36.9 inches high.
Our daughter and son-in-law have a very large condo but the space between their kitchen island and the sink isn't large. The simplehuman fingerprint-proof slim step can fits perfect next to the island. It has a slim, narrow shape. It is very attractive as well.
The lid uses air suspension shocks so it closes quietly.
The lid can stay open on its own. So I didn't have to keep my foot on the pedal as we were doing some cooking.
The simplehuman fingerprint-proof slim step can has a skid proof base so it doesn't move around the kitchen.
One picture is a gross look inside but what I'm really showing is the patented bag change system that eliminates overhanging trash bags and makes it easier to take out the trash.
Jo's Viewpoint
Well you can probably tell by the features that the simplehuman fingerprint-proof slim step can may in fact be worth $100.00. I am torn about giving it 4 stars because of the price. We know how much it costs and for those who have the money or want to give a terrific gift then go for it. The can will probably last a whole lot longer than any other one you might buy.
