We hired a contractor through servicemagic. He didn't show up the first day (although he took a check for materials). He showed up late the second day, showed up the third day, the fourth day.... then he disappeared. He wouldn't return phone calls, but when I blocked my phone number he finally answered his phone.. when I said who he was he claimed phone problems and hung up. When I notified servicemagic, they asked for pictures and copies of the contract. I spent the afternoon taking about 150 high res pictures. I faxed everything they asked. They admitted the job wasn't done and I'd need another contractor. I showed them the damage to my carpet, the places on the ceiling that were hit with a roller (thus forcing me to paint the ceilings).
Then they called a week later and said it was denied, since the contractor primed it. I got what I paid for. I then had to pay about $1500 MORE than I had originally been quoted to get the job redone and finished.
The company is a scam, the gaurantee is bogus.
